The Foundlings Blog Tour

I loved this book so much and I am so excited to be participating in this tour. So let's get to know more about the author and his EPIC book The Foundlings.

Born and raised in NJ, R.M. Garcia is the son of Puerto Rican parents who moved to NJ from PR shortly after getting married. He has two younger siblings, twins, Eric and Erica. Growing up he was a simple child who never asked for much because his imagination provided him with everything he would ever need. He was considered a dreamer by all of his teachers, but he never thought that was a bad thing. R.M. was initially very shy until he got older and stopped caring what others thought about him. Either you liked him or you didn’t but he was always true to himself. He has been called weird, quirky, funny, and trustworthy; all titles he holds dear.

R.M. originally wrote the short story of The Foundlings when he was still in High School and it was not until much later that he fully developed it into a book. Back in the day, he used to write poetry and often compared his work to the work of a friend, Travis, who was far better at poetry in R.M.’s opinion. After High School, R.M. moved to Florida where he attended college before dabbling in varied professions over the next several years. Such jobs included Hotel Manager, Accountant, Insurance Agent, Travel Agent, Customer Service Rep, Draftsman, and even a Fry Cook. When R.M. started writing his book, he realized that writing was his true passion and what he is ultimately meant to do.

R.M. loved writing The Foundlings and even if it does not become a bestseller, he will continue to write. God willing, and with the help of his fans, The Foundlings will make a mark in the literary world.

After the worst year of his life, all Donnie wanted was happiness, and when he met Abbie, he was sure he had found it. But their happiness together is placed in jeopardy when they are dragged in to the world of Vampires. Orphaned, now they must fight to survive, fight to live and fight to keep their love alive. They find themselves outcasts in this world, the world of the Foundlings.

My Review:
I absolutely loved this book. Anybody who knows me knows how much I love vampires and R.M.’s book did not disappointment me. I was hooked from page one and could not put my kindle down until I was done. At one point my kindle died on me and changed over to small screen on my phone just so I could keep reading this book. I loved the originality of  R.M.’s vampires and I fell in love with the main characters. I am eagerly awaiting book two to see what happens next. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Excerpt:
DONNIE’S TENSION LEVEL rose significantly as the situation escalated. Abbie was in front of him and was guarding him against the old tall bum. He was not sure what was going on, but Abbie and the old man, who he now knew as Hulderich, were getting ready to square off for some unknown reason. To make things worse, a storm front rapidly enveloped the area. The winds picked up and so did the moisture in the air. Abbie leaped forward and attacked Hulderich, and he was still not sure what he was witnessing. Abbie delivered three swift punches to Hulderich’s abdomen; each blow drove him back several feet. He countered with a sweeping back hand that sent Abbie flying back into an exterior wall of the cottage. Wood splintered under the force of her impact. Donnie moved forward to help Abbie, but she looked to him, and he froze in his place at what he saw next. “Stay back, Donnie!” she yelled to him with her fangs bared. Donnie stared in disbelief as she bounded forward yet again. Hulderich was ready for her this time and caught her in mid-leap by her throat. He bared his fangs at Abbie as she struggled against him.
“Foolish girl, you have no chance against me, yield!” Hulderich ordered.
“No! I will not! I . . .” Abbie said as she struggled. Hulderich slammed her in into the sand repeatedly, and then pinned her in place, and then delivered several blows to her chest with his free hand. With each blow, Donnie could hear Abbie wince in pain as her bones shattered. The action was fast, almost too fast for normal eyes to follow, but Donnie found that he was able to see everything clearly. He began to move to help her.
“No, Donnie, stay back!” she cried out from the sand.
“That’s good advice, boy” Hulderich said as he stood up. Abbie began to get to her feet, but Hulderich delivered a vicious kick to her head. The force of his boot drove her through the cottage wall, and she ended up in the kitchen. Donnie moved to the hole and spotted Abbie; she was trying to get up but collapsed onto the floor. Donnie had enough!
Donnie began moving toward Hulderich, “Hey, asshole, how about picking on someone your own size?!” There was a flash of lightning overhead. For a brief moment, it was as bright as any day. Hulderich was eerily standing in the sand, and his smile reminded him of pure evil. The skies opened up, and an immense downpour began. The winds raged and howled with angry tones. The rain seemed to be coming from every direction as the wind violently pushed it around.
“Very well, I don’t need you alive,” Hulderich said and charged at Donnie.
“Bring it!” he yelled back and moved forward. Hulderich took several swings, and Donnie evaded them easily. He performed flips and rolls that kept him away from Hulderich’s strikes. He realized that he was much faster now. Hulderich’s swings seemed to be coming at him in slow motion, and even the rain seemed to be falling slower. He took a few swings of his own on Hulderich. The old man was obviously an experienced pugilist and blocked the attacks easily. He continued to trade swings with Hulderich, and neither had yet to land a blow.

A Mermaid's Curse

I have Daniele Lanzarotta's A Mermaid's Curse on my blog today and I am so excited. I absolutely loved this book and I got the chance to interview one of my favorite characters Arianna. Daniele has also sent posters and bookmarks for a giveaway and yes this giveaway is International. Make sure read all the way through to see how you can win.

Daniele Lanzarotta is the author of paranormal/fantasy novels, including the Imprinted Souls Series, Academy of the Fallen, and A Mermaid’s Curse. She has a bachelor's in business and finance and a MBA. With only a few semesters left in school, Daniele started writing as a hobby, but it didn't take long for her to be consumed by her stories. That is her passion, and she now has several projects under way.

She enjoys reading and writing young adult novels with just about any sort of paranormal or supernatural bent...vampires... ghosts... She also enjoys watching hockey, playing rock band, guitar hero and spending time with the family.

Stalker Links:

Arianna always felt like she didn’t belong in the world where she was born.  Ever since she was little, she used to hide behind the rocks in the sea, and watch the human family who spent their summers on that island.  Over the years, there was nothing she wished more than to be like them, especially so she could get close to Blake, the human boy who she saw turn into a troubled teenager and then, an unhappy man.

Once her dad grew tired of her dreams and hopes for a reality that is not her own, Arianna is thrown into an arranged marriage, and her only way out of it is to make a deal with the power-hungry man who will give her everything that she has ever dreamed of.  Dreams that turn into nightmares as she watches Blake’s world fall apart, because of her and Blake’s inability to control their desires for one another.

My Review:

Daniele has crossed over into adult paranormal from YA paranormal flawlessly with her first book in her A Mermaid’s Curse trilogy.

Arianna is a mermaid who has always felt like she didn’t belong in her world. She longs to be human and to be with the human boy Blake she has watched all her life. She has watched him turn into an unhappy man and wants nothing more then to make him happy and see his smile. Blake is stuck with a life he doesn’t want. Controlled by his dad in every aspect even down to marrying a woman he doesn’t love. One day Arianna’s world is turned upside down by her dad. She is forced to marry a merman she doesn’t love. So she flees and goes to the surface and meets Owen a power hungry man with an agenda all his own. He makes Arianna’s dream come true but she is not sure it’s worth seeing the damage it does to Blake.

I loved the three main characters so much for different reasons. We see so much growth from each of them. Arianna is a heroine you just fall in love with from page one and you want her to have her dreams come true. Blake annoyed me at first with his going back and fourth and hurting Arianna but when it really mattered he came through for her and was the man of her fairy tale she had always hoped for and knew he could be. Owen really surprised me as the story went on. I thought he was a bad guy but things came to light that had me wanting him to get everything he wanted.

If you have read any of Daniele’s books before then you know she is the queen of cliff hangers and this book is no different. When I got to the last page she had me shouting NO! and wanting to throw my kindle across the room. I am so impatiently waiting for book two to see what is going to happen with all three characters. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Interview:

Hi Arianna, Thanks for being on my blog today. I have a few questions I would like to ask you.

Thanks for having me.

For people who don’t know you tell us a little about yourself.
I’m just an 18-year-old girl who is lost in a world that is a complete mess.  Not that my world was much better, at least now, I feel like I belong.

How did it feel to become a human?
Scary.

What were your thoughts on Blake when you first saw him as a kid?
I was curious and mesmerized by him.  I just felt this pull toward him, and anger for having no choice but to stay away.

What are your thoughts on Owen?

I don’t really understand him.  He scares me, but then he can turn around and do something nice, and I never know if he is truly being nice or if he is up to something.

We see you struggle with your feelings for Blake at first, what makes you finally accept him for who he is?
I’ve always loved him and accepted him in my own way.  I guess my true struggles were with myself, and the consequences that Blake would have to suffer for being with me.

How hard is it for you to ignore the call of the ocean?
It’s nearly impossible.  It’s like having an uncontrollable craving that you are unable to fulfill.

When Blake finally stands up and becomes the man you knew he was all along, how did that make you feel and did you worry about his dad disowning him?

Honestly, he didn’t have to stand up for me to show me who he is, but I did feel scared more than anything else.  His dad is a horrible man.  I always understood Blake…. Standing up to people like his dad has consequences to everyone. Sadly, his dad knows very well that the fastest way to get to Blake is to hurt the people he loves. I worried about how far he would take things just to get revenge.

Can you give us a hint as to what happens in book 2 since Daniele left us with such a huge cliff hanger?

There will be a lot of pain, grief, and heartbreak.  Bram has changed so much… and Blake’s dad, well, he is worse than you think… so much worse.

Thank you Arianna for letting me interview you today.

Giveaway:
To win one of these great prizes answer this question: Arianna risked everything to be with the man she loved, would you do the same and why? Make sure you leave your email with your answer.

Thank you to Daniele for letting me participate in this blog tour and for donating such awesome prizes for a giveaway.

Sacred Blog Tour

I am so excited to be participating in this blog tour. I loved this book so much. SO let's get to know more about the author and her books.

ELANA K. ARNOLD completed her M.A. in Creative Writing/Fiction at the University of California, Davis. She grew up in Southern California, where she was lucky enough to have her own horse--a gorgeous mare named Rainbow--and a family who let her read as many books as she wanted. She lives in Long Beach, California, with her husband, two children, and a menagerie of animals. She is represented by Rubin Pfeffer of the East/West Literary Agency. Sacred is her debut novel.

Stalker Links:

Growing up on Catalina Island, off the California coast, Scarlett Wenderoth has led a fairly isolated life. After her brother dies, her isolation deepens as she withdraws into herself, shutting out her friends and boyfriend. Her parents, shattered by their own sorrow, fail to notice Scarlett's pain and sudden alarming thinness. Scarlett finds pleasure only on her horse, escaping to the heart of the island on long, solitary rides. One day, as she races around a bend, Scarlett is startled by a boy who raises his hand in warning and says one word: "Stop."

The boy—intense, beautiful—is Will Cohen, a newcomer to the island. For reasons he can't or won't explain, he's drawn to Scarlett and feels compelled to keep her safe. To keep her from wasting away. His meddling irritates Scarlett, though she can't deny her attraction to him. As their relationship blossoms into love, Scarlett's body slowly awakens at Will's touch. But just when her grief begins to ebb, she makes a startling discovery about Will, a discovery he's been grappling with himself. A discovery that threatens to force them apart. And if it does, Scarlett fears she will unravel all over again.

My Review:
The cover is stunning but the story is magical and heart breaking.

Scarlett has grown up on a small island called Catalina where everyone knows everybody and is friendly but her family’s world is shattered by the death of her older brother. Scarlett starts to isolate from everyone she knows to deal with the pain but all she does is start to hurt herself but the arrival of a new boy named Will helps to heal her damaged and broken heart. At first Will’s attempts to help keep Scarlett safe from herself do nothing but annoy her that is until he tells her a secret about himself and that he understands the pain she is going through for he lost his mom at the age of thirteen.

This whole story flows so well. The world and characters are so real and well written that you feel every emotion. I loved the two main characters Scarlett and Will. Scarlett deals with a lot of things that nobody her age should have to go through but the author handles every problem well and makes you feel all the pain, heart ache, joy, acceptance, and love right along with her. Will is such a great guy he never let’s go of Scarlett even when he feels he should and when it matters most he comes through for her and saves her even more. My one complaint is Scarlett’s mom. She checks out on her daughter and husband from her pain of loosing her son and I so badly wanted to shake her and tell her you still have a daughter who needs you but she does redeem herself when Scarlett needs her the most.

Arnold does not disappoint with her first book. She will have you falling in love with Will and break your heart with Scarlett. I can not wait for more of this exciting new world and the characters I have come to love. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Breaking The Nexus Blog Tour

I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading (of course!), baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?
Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.
For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.
The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

Excerpt:
As he walked up a set of stairs, the movement jostled her. If her lips just happened to brush against his neck when her head moved against the crook of his shoulder, it wasn’t her fault. She watched his throat work as he swallowed hard. Good, she was getting to him. Served him right when he’d gotten under her skin.
“Stop that,” he ordered, the command holding no heat. He shifted her weight for a moment while he unlocked the front door and pushed it open.
Unable to resist pushing him a little further, she brushed her lips against his skin once more. “Stop what?” Sha gazed up at him, the heat of his eyes making her melt. Those metallic eyes shifted and swirled unlike anything she’d ever seen, even among the Metallum Sorceri she’d met over the years.
He let her body slide down his, hands settling on her hips, holding her body close against him for a moment. “You’re playing with fire,” he warned.
“That’s alright, lucky for you, I’m an Infernum.”
“Really? And what does that mean?” Although he towered over her, his head was bent and she thought she might be able to reach his mouth if she stretched
“It means I happen to like playing with fire,” she whispered, standing on her tip toes to brush her lips to his.
She’d intended it to be a brief kiss, more of a tease than anything else. They hardly knew each other and had just escaped from a potentially deadly situation, after all. But the moment their lips met, all rational thought became impossible, incinerated by the flash of desire that swept through her.
One hand slid into her hair and fisted, pulling her head back to give him better access to her mouth. His tongue swept over hers, drawing a low moan from her. By the flame, his taste. Her hands grasped his coat as she pressed her breasts against his chest, pressure building low in her core. He was staking his claim on her, and she wanted more. Frantic to feel him, she pushed her hands beneath his shirt, running her fingers along his chest through the dusting of hair on his chest. Too soon he broke away, both of them breathing heavily.
“That—that probably shouldn’t have happened,” he said after a moment, stepping back to put some distance between them.
Sha touched her lips, swollen from their passion. Kissing him had electrified her senses, energizing her more than when she tapped a node, a direct line to power. It would be all too easy to become addicted to him. “That’s funny, I was thinking it should happen again.”
“Sha, I’m serious. I’m supposed to protect you, not make out with you on my porch.”
“Connor, I’m serious,” she mimicked. “I can protect myself and I don’t know what ‘make out’ means, but if it makes you feel better, I kissed you.”
His hand smoothed over her hair, brushing it from her face. “You’re a witch, aren’t you? Say it again.”
Confused, she cocked her head to the side. “Huh?”
“My name. I liked hearing you say it instead of ‘Detective.’”
Her heart melted a little. She had to tread carefully or she’d end up falling for this man. “Connor. And I’m not a witch, I’m a Sorceri, there’s a difference.”

Cover Reveal

I am so excited to be participating in the cover reveal of Nathan Squiers re-launch of his book Crimson Shadow: Noir but before I post it let's read the awesome excerpt that Nathan has provided for us.

Excerpt:

The cab ride home was an unpleasant one; reeking of stale farts that the driver replaced with new ones without the slightest sign of embarrassment. Xander, ignoring the gross driver as best he could, checked behind them several times for anything that could be following. When he was certain there was no immediate threat, he faced forward and tried to relax; catching sight of a hanging section of fat that hung from the driver’s neck that rippled with each imperfection in the road and stifled a dry heave.
Finally, the cab pulled up at the address that Xander had specified and he opened the door and stepped out.
"Th’ fare’s twen'ee-eight fort’five." the cabby called out.
"I haven’t got it." Xander muttered.
"Sonababitch!" the cabby yelled as he threw open the door and hoisted himself out, his gut snagging the steering wheel and giving birth to a new wave of obscenities, "Im’a kill ya’, ya’ robbing b’stard!"
"Disgusting!" Xander muttered as he started across the lawn.
No argument here. Trepis chimed in.
The address he’d given the driver was several blocks away from his own home. He had known from the start that he didn’t have the money to pay the fare but felt that he needed a safer way to get home than walking. Running around the back of the house, he hopped the fence and cut through several bushes that separated the one house from another. From there, he crossed through the yard on the opposite side and slowed to a walk, leaving the cursing cabby several houses back.
He was a block away when he first saw the smoke.
As he got closer, his fears were confirmed: the roof of his house collapsing in a violent greeting of his return. Standing in front of the smoldering wreckage were three figures, all wearing black sweatshirts and long, black pants. Two of the three had black baseball caps on while the third wore a black bowler. Xander watched, horrified, from a distance as the last of his life burned to the ground, wondering why nobody else had seemed to notice or bothered to call the fire department.
It's time. The small boy's voice echoed in his head. It was the first time he’d ever heard a voice besides Trepis’ and he wondered if he was finally going insane.
Having seen enough of his burning home, he turned his attention to the three, who had noticed his arrival and were now approaching. The closest—a younger-looking man—cracked his knuckles. As he neared, Xander noticed a pinkish stain on his chin and a shudder forced its way up his spine. The other cap-wearer was a dark-skinned woman with a tattoo of a snake that breached her collar and ended on her cheek. The figure in the bowler was a man whose black hair hung from under the hat in front of his left eye.
Too much. . .
It was all too much for him.
Too much pain. Too much suffering. Too much anguish and guilt and doubt.
Too much to hold back.
Too much to keep it all locked in. . .
As an unbearable itch—carrying with it an infernal heat that seemed to cook him from the inside-out—crept over Xander’s body, the young man in front of him crouched down like an angry cat then and launched himself several stories into the air. Squinting, Xander fought to keep his eyes focused on the unnatural spectacle as it was lost in the sun; after all that had happened, he once again began to question his sanity and begged reality to return the stranger’s feet back to the ground where they belonged. Still gawking into the sky, he was caught off guard by a powerful force and thrown down the length of the street, skipping like a stone over the concrete surface several times before finally rolling to a stop against the curb.
Too much. . .
It was too—
His eyes rolled in his skull as he wrestled to get his bearings; the world spinning beneath him and keeping him off balance. Getting his left foot centered beneath him, he adjusted his right and tried to stand, only to feel the ground roll under him and drop him all over again.
Behind him there was a soft thud, and Xander gave up on the effort to stand up in the hopes of coaxing his blurred vision to focus.
Distortion. . .
A kaleidoscope of fractured light and rolling shadows. . .
Xander groaned and blinked, watching as the previously airborne young man step towards him.
The familiar sensation of a foot being driven into his ribs; harder and more sudden than he’d expected. As a dry heave ripped the oxygen from his lungs, Xander found himself once again crashing to the unforgiving street.
. . . too much.
Head still reeling, Xander fought to fill his empty lungs as he was lifted from the ground in an iron grip and shaken before being thrown. . .
Xander could feel the impending heat growing as he hurdled towards the inferno that was consuming his home.
Consuming his life!
The brittle remains of the house proved too frail to stop Xander as he careened through the sidewall—an avalanche of ash and memories crashing down around him—and slammed into a flaming support beam. No longer able to support the burden of its purpose, the structure crumbled with a fiery hiss and he found himself trapped beneath the mass. Pinned under the scalding pressure and seeing every stolen moment of happiness he’d ever had go up in smoke, he began to succumb.
"JUST FUCKING LET ME DIE!" He roared at the flames.
Dammit, Xander! Fight!
Xander blinked, feeling his tears evaporate before they could fall. "Mom. . ."
Nothing can be done about that! Now get up! Get the fuck up!
"Grandma. . ."
Stop it! Sadness fixes nothing! Anger motivates change! USE YOUR ANGER AND FIGHT! FIGHT, GOD DAMN YOU!
The sudden wave of intense heat overwhelmed everything else, and Xander did nothing to stop it from consuming him. Though he could feel the burning remains of the beam holding him down—could smell the burning denim and flesh that had begun to feed it—he knew this new fire had nothing to do with his surroundings. Crying against everything that had befallen him, he pushed up and shook off the offending piece of wood and pulled himself to his feet. He saw his mother, her sweet smile and her slightly curled strawberry-blonde hair. Her green eyes, long since closed, burned in his mind. He saw his Grandmother, with all her wisdom and calmness.
Gone.
All gone.
He closed his eyes and let the visions of those he loved burned in his mind.
And then he imagined Kyle. . .
Use his anger? Up until then all his magical rages had been done by instinct—chaotic events that had turned themselves on.
But what if he could control it?
Though his eyes remained closed he could sense the strangers as they approached; the young man taking up the lead again. Inside his mind, Xander could practically see the extended snarl stretching the jaws of each his attackers; could feel their determination and hatred roll off of them in waves.
Hatred?
What could they know about hatred?
“He’s still alive!” Xander felt a swell of disgust roll from the snake-woman—could practically see her thin lips curl in a sneer from the other side of the collapsed wall—and he felt another wave of energy rocketing towards him.
Frantic to hold his ground, Xander threw his arms out in an attempt to hold himself up. The swell of energy he’d come to recognize as his own kicked up, then, and the ash and debris around him scattered in a momentary gust as his attackers’ wave collided with the house. As the dividing barricade burst towards him, the gust shifted and pushed back; the burning chunks of wood and furniture parting around Xander and splaying out in either direction. Growling against the whipping hair in his eyes, Xander fought to maintain his footing as his shoe dragged across the ashes of his home until the force finally died down around him.
The three stopped in mid-stride as the dense cloud between them settled.
Xander felt a swell of excitement at the sight of their confusion.
They had power; there was no doubt about that.
But he did, too.
And now they saw it.
“He got lucky,” the snake-woman growled; her words nearly inaudible to Xander, “Kill him!”
The three started toward him again, and the swell of their emotions once again grew; the force becoming so strong that their bodies seemed to radiate with it.
But it was too much.
Xander was too angry to be afraid.
Too eager to see them suffer for everything that had happened.
Do it! Trepis urged him.
“It… it can’t be,” the snake-woman’s eyes widened then, her purposeful advance ceasing as she stared at Xander in disbelief. The analytic gaze melted to one of concern, and the woman took a step back, followed soon after by another, “S-Stryker?”
The other two, unaware of their companion’s retreat, continued to stride forward.
Trepis’ voice echoed in Xander’s head: DO IT!
“Oh no. . .” the woman held out her hand, “Get back!”
But the warning came too late. The excruciating heat in Xander’s body churned about in him like a boiling whirlpool; a new purpose driving it to spread. As he concentrated on the sensation, he felt the gust pick up and swirl around him, growing in intensity. When the force became too much for him to contain—too much for him to hold back any longer—he shut his eyes and unleashed it on them.
There was a series of snapping and crunching sounds followed by panicked screams. Driven by this, he increased the intensity of his attack. Even when the screams were silenced, he continued to let the energy whip around him; let it rip and tear until there was nothing left to feed the destructive force.
Until there was no energy left in him, and, feeling drained, he stumbled and collapsed into the dying embers.
When he finally looked up, the little boy was standing over him, his hand outstretched. As he watched through blurred vision, a man and a woman appeared behind the boy, who faded away and disappeared.
You will come with us now?
As the effort to keep himself conscious became too much, Xander finally offered a weak nod.
