My Questions from Kristina:
1~ When did you begin blogging and who/what inspired you to start?
I begin blogging a year ago with another page I help run Paranormal Reads. Another girl on the page named Tiff and me started doing blog tours hosted by Jean Vallesteros and it was getting hard to have us both in the tours so with the faith Jean and the other ladies had in me I started my own blog.

2~ What blog (author, reviewer, etc) do you visit the most?
For authors I visit a lot of blogs. Too many to post.

3~ What's been your favorite book/series this year and who wrote it?
I have a few. Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, Reacquainted by Lindsay Weigel,  Hell's Phoenix by Gracen Miller, Capture Me by Emily Gossett, The Scene by R.M. Gilmore, Creatura by Nely Cab, and Of Blood and Pulse by AJ Sweeny. There are so many more I have loved this year this is just a few.

4~What is your favorite genre?
This one is easy for me Paranormal is my favorite.

5~Who is your literary crush?
This is hard. I have so many but I will only name a few. Bones from Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost, Micah Dominus from Road to Hell series by Gracen Miller, David Chios from Creatura by Nely Cab, Kaiden Rowe from Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, and Eric Northman from Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. This is just a few from my long list.

My Nominee's

Pretty in Black by Rae Hachton

Synopsis:

Some Things are Pretty. Some Things are Black. Love is both.

[Ellie Piper]

She wanted to die. He arose from the grave. He was sent to kill her. She was trained to kill those of his kind. But fate had other plans. He searched for 119 years to find her. & There's no way in hell he's letting her go. Dead or Alive. They're fated.

[Marcus Marble]

How far would you go to be with the one you love? Would you die for her? Would you kill for her? What if the only reason you're still alive is because of her? What if the reason you came back from the dead, was to be with her? But what if your job was to kill her, but you fell in love instead? And now you're being hunted by your own kind?

Destroy? Or be Destroyed?

My Review:

I was drawn to this book from this line alone. Some Things are Pretty. Some Things are Black. Love is both. That had me staying up late into the night to finish this book. And I am so glad I did.

We meet Ellie at the beginning who has decided to end her life. Even though it’s a graphic scene the author does some creative writing to introduce us to the love interest Marcus. He asks Ellie for a kiss and dance. I was a little confused weather this was a dream or not but Rae writes so well that it didn’t even bother me.

I really liked Ellie even though she was dark and loves cemeteries but with the death of her sister and the upheaval of her life you understand why she acts the way she does. My only issue with her is I wish she would have realized her feelings for Marcus sooner. Marcus is just swoon worthy. He holds nothing back when it comes to his feelings for Ellie which I found refreshing in a YA book. I really loved the new Paranormal aspect in this book. Marcus is something new in a genre filled with vampires, werewolves, angels, etc. Don’t get me wrong I love all those beings but it’s nice to have new ones.

If your looking for a fresh new take on the paranormal pick up Pretty in Black. It has become one of my best reads of 2012. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Night Thief By Lisa Kessler

Synopsis:

After the fall of the Mayan civilization, Kane, an immortal Night Walker, has taken refuge in France for over 800 years. The modern world holds little interest for him until the night he meets the Golden Thief and is robbed of much more than his pocket watch.

Marguerite Rousseau is living a double life. By day she is the assistant to an eccentric French artist, Antoine Berjon, and by night she dons elegant evening gowns to woo French dignitaries before lifting their wallets.

Sparks ignite when Kane captures the thief, but Marguerite harbors a dark secret that could ruin them both.

My Review:

I loved this book but can you blame me. The cover is gorgeous and then you add a sexy vampire named Kane and I was hooked.

Kane is an immortal charged with looking out for humans even though he drinks blood he only drinks from those who would do harm. Marguerite has her own agenda she is know as the Le Voleur D’or, or the golden thief. She is stealing to make enough money to get away from her monster of master. Kane is intrigued by Rita so he sets up a plan to meet her at a party by wearing his finest jewelry for her to steal. But what Kane didn’t expect was to fall for her. Being away from her master for so long gets Marguerite in trouble and he abuses her. This infuriates Kane and he tells Rita he can protect her but he as to admit to her what he is and convince her he is not a monster.

I loved Marguerite so much. She is very strong and will do whatever it takes for her and her family to be safe. I admired her through the whole book. Kane is just sexy and you want to love him and have him love and protect you. The chemistry between them burns the pages it’s that HOT.

If you love sexy vampires and historical romance then get this novella. You will love Kane and the rest of the night walkers. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Fate Fixed Blog Tour

BONNIE ERINA WHEELER is a lifelong resident of New England and a University of Connecticut student.

Having grown up in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Bonnie discovered her love of writing early on, but did not begin writing novels until May 2011. As the daughter of author, Glen William Ruane, storytelling and world building is a family affair. Bonnie’s daughter, Miranda E. L. Wheeler and son, Robert D. Wheeler, share in the family’s passion and have both published in the last twelve months.

When not in class or working on her next novel, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry. Together the two have been writing their own special love story since marrying in April of 1995. Their children Miranda, Justin, and Bobby give them great joy. Their family is made complete with the addition of Petey, a Spanish water dog, they adopted from their local pound.

Bonnie’s plans for the future include writing more novels in the Erris Coven Series, as well as, writing several contemporary young adult novels that have been in development for some time.

When Lexie Anderson’s mother suddenly announces she is marrying a Romanian immigrant, Lexie willingly leaves behind her busy life in Connecticut for her penance in the "Moose Capital of the World.” Small town living is strange enough, now Lexie must cope with her overbearing stepfamily monitoring her every move. They disappear into the woods at night and keep a strange secret locked in their shed. Her once calm mother is now having violent outbursts and Lexie’s little sister is hearing sinister sounds coming from the forest behind their new home. Lexie’s biggest surprise comes when she discovers the boy she has been dreaming about since her accident is living in Maine. Despite Torin’s questionable reputation, Lexie cannot resist the physical and emotional attraction pulsating between them. Animals and people in town are turning up dead and Lexie learns the strange new world she lives in has real life monsters. Just when she decides she wants to be with Torin forever, she must fight to protect her mother and sister from being harmed by a formidable evil.

My Review:
What a fresh new take on vampires and werewolves. I was pulled in from page one and loved every minute of this book so much so I bought the second book and I can not wait to start it.

Lexie’s world is turned upside down with the death of her father, her mother remarrying, getting three step brothers, and moving from the only place she knows. The only bright thing in her life is the boy she keeps dreaming about. But what Lexie doesn’t know is that Torin is also dreaming about her but he knows why. They are meant to be fated mates but Lexie’s new step brothers have a different plan for her. But when Lexie finds out what Torin is she has to look into her heart and see if she can look past it and love him before its too late and he is lost to her forever.

I loved every minute of this book. Lexie is so strong and deals with so much in the span of a year. I don’t know if I was her that I could handle all the changes but she manages and comes out stronger. Torin is just swoon worthy. He is brooding, sexy, strong, fierce, and a hero you just love to love and want for yourself. Lexie’s step brothers are the kind of guys you love to hate and they had me fooled through the whole book. I was totally shocked to find out who the actual crazy psycho brother was.

The cover drew me in first but the storyline sucked me in and kept me turning the pages until I was done. With a love story that took my breath away and a plot that left me guessing at every turn Fate Fixed has become one of my favorite reads of 2012. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

From Bonnie Erina Wheeler, the author who brought you Fate Fixed, comes the second installment in the Erris Coven Series, Blood Twist

Braden Murphy knew he was going to die. There was a twist to his family secret – one that was forced upon him from the time he was a child. For years he envisioned his final days and tried to be strong enough to leave his family. Now that it was time, he was ready to make good on a deadly promise. Except for one unexpected glitch, a raven haired beauty insisted on joining him.

Liz Sanders thought her best friend’s stepfamily was weird, but she never would have guessed they were werewolves. Now Liz must travel with a secretive half-vampire in search of a lycanthropy cure. Landing in a nest full of blood thirsty vampires wasn’t on the agenda, but neither was falling in love.

Braden is tempting, but Liz’s feelings for him are complicated. She wishes he would open up about his past and give her a reason to trust him.

Just when Liz thinks she can let her guard down, she’s forced to confront the evil that has been stalking Braden’s past for years. Death is here and ready to destroy everything they've fought to save.

Excerpt:

It was at that moment that Lexie felt the strangest sensation wash through her – her skin tingled like the air suddenly became magnetized.  As if in slow motion, she turned to see the most powerful blue eyes she had ever seen.
Like my dream, but real.
Standing right behind her, he was about six feet tall and dressed in nothing but jeans and a black button up shirt. His chestnut hair swept to one side and fell across his forehead. As his friends mocked back and forth about Courtney’s crush on him, he watched them in silence, hands stuffed in his pockets.
Lexie tried to open her mouth and say hello, but was unsure if she could. Her heart pulsed like she just went for a good run.  I am losing my mind.
As soon as she thought it, his bottomless eyes connected with hers. If words could describe the silent connection she felt when he gazed down at her, she wouldn’t have been able to keep herself from blurting them out loud.
At first his expression showed bewilderment – but with a subtle shake of his head, he gained a mixture of composure and understanding. His face softened as he smiled and the effect left her feeling a warm flush spread across her cheeks.
“I’m Torin,” he introduced.  “What’s your name?”
Lexie knew everyone else carried on with their laughter, oblivious to what was happening between them, and she was thankful. She didn’t understand it either, but she wanted to see where it led. “Lexie Anderson,” she responded with a smile.
There was a familiarity about him that mystified her – she couldn’t deny the sense of connection that appeared to pulsate between them. “I know we don’t know each other, but you seem so familiar to me,” she tried explaining.  I’m babbling.
Torin edged a little closer, but she didn’t mind his nearness. He hung his head and whispered, “Can we go talk for a little while?”

Guest Post:

Dear Readers,
I am writing in hopes that you have seen my best friend Lexie. She’s 17, cute, a little timid (at least compared to me), and being followed around by her drooling, Neanderthal step-brother. You may be thinking that I am being over dramatic about Maxim, but seriously, the boy has issues and knowing that Lexie has to share breathing space with him makes my heart ache.
Honestly, I still can’t believe what has happened. Her mom, Ruby, who is sweet, don’t get me wrong, but a complete airhead at times, has taken Lexie and her bratty sister, Ella, and have moved off to “God Knows Where” Maine. We’re talking the “moose Capital” of the world friends and not in the Rocky and Bullwinkle way. And why is this so you may ask? The “L” word – Love, maybe even a little of the other “L” word – lust. As soon as she met Dragos, the weird dude from Romania with the three teen boys, Ruby turned into June Cleaver and ran off with her new blended family to start a new life.
It sucks for me and Lexie. We had some pretty cool things planned for senior year. I haven’t heard from her and she isn’t answering my calls, that is why I‘m worried. I don’t know what she’s doing, but I need to find her. Who knows, maybe she met some sexy Maine lumberjack or something. That or Maxim finally went postal and tied her up in his tree fort or something. All I know is – if none of you have seen her, I’m going to Erris myself and figure out what is going on. She’s my best friend; she would do it for me. I won’t let anything happen to her.
Thanks for listening! ~ Liz (A.K.A. Lexie’s BFF from CT!)

I wanna say Thank you to Jaidis for letting me be part of this tour and to Bonnie for allowing me to review her book.

Witch Born Blog Tour

Amber Argyle grew up with three brothers on a cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains. She spent hours riding horses, roaming the mountains, and playing in her family’s creepy barn. This environment fueled her imagination for writing high fantasy.

She has worked as a short order cook, janitor, and staff member in a mental institution. All of which has given her great insight into the human condition and has made for some unique characters.

She received her bachelor’s degree in English and Physical Education from Utah State Uiversity.

The world is changing. Once, Witch Song controlled everything from the winds to the shifting of the seasons-but not anymore. All the Witches are gone, taken captive by a traitor. All but Brusenna. As the echo of their songs fade, the traitor grows stronger. Now she is coming for Brusenna. Her guardian has sworn to protect her, but even he can't stop the Dark Witch. Somehow, Brusenna has to succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find the traitor. Fight her. Defeat her. Because if Brusenna doesn't, there won't be anything left to save.

Brusenna thought it was finished.
She defeated the Dark Witch, saving the Haven Witches from imprisonment and death. She found love and a place to belong.

She was wrong.

Haven is not the sanctuary it appears to be. Even love is in danger of slipping away like water through cupped hands.

Some things can't be saved.

A new threat merges with the old as the Witches’ dark history begins to catch up with them. Only Brusenna knows the extent of the danger and how to stop it, though doing so might cost her everything.

Including her life.

Will Brusenna be required to make the ultimate sacrifice?
