The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door Blog Tour

I am so happy to be participating in this tour. I really enjoyed this book. I think it's a very important book for parents and kids to read. On this tour stop there is a 10 favorite things with the Karen, my review, and awesome giveaway. So let's get started and meet Karen.

That’s the day the trouble started.

The trouble that nearly ruined my life.

The trouble that turned me Dark.
The trouble that begs me for revenge.

Celia Door enters her freshman year of high school with giant boots, dark eyeliner, and a thirst for revenge against Sandy Firestone, the girl who did something unspeakable to Celia last year.

But then Celia meets Drake, the cool new kid from New York City who entrusts her with his deepest, darkest secret. When Celia’s quest for justice threatens her relationship with Drake, she’s forced to decide which is sweeter: revenge or friendship.

This debut novel from Karen Finneyfrock establishes her as a bright, bold, razor-sharp new voice for teens.

My Review:
This is not my normal type of book but I really enjoyed this book. I am so glad I got the chance to read it.

Celia is starting high school and has a plan to get revenge on the girl who bullied her in eighth grade. Celia has started calling herself Celia the Dark and makes sure none of the kids who bullied her can see how much it has affected her. But one day everything changes when she meets the new cool guy Drake from New York. They become best friends and he starts sharing all his deepest secrets with her while she keeps her deepest darkest secret from him. But all that changes when their friendship is at risk due to Celia’s desire to get revenge on her bully. Celia has to decide if her friendship with Drake is worth more to her then the revenge she has been planning for months.

I really loved this book. The author handles bullying very well and shows how much it can affect us in our everyday life.  Celia is a smart girl and I could relate to her love of reading and I could actually see myself being friends with her and Drake if I was in school with them. My heart just broke for Celia and kids like her who has been bullied and I really think this book shows us the damage it can cause.

Karen has taken on the issue of bullying in today’s schools and given us a heroine we all can relate and even say we have known or can call a friend.  I highly recommend this book to kids and parents. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

I am so excited to be participating in this scavenger hunt for Inger Iversen. I have read her first book Few Are Angels and I absolutely loved it. I have been waiting to buy book Awakened book 2 to see what happens next. If you are not sure how this works there will be a word in green somewhere in every post. You have to make sure you got to every stop. So let's get started and get to know more about Inger before I post the awesome excerpt we have.

Inger Iversen lives in Virginia Beach with her tree-hugging boyfriend Joshua and her overweight lap cat Max. When not reading or writing she spends her time watching reruns of True Blood or killing zombies in Call Of Duty.

What must he overcome to protect her?

With no clue of what to do next and the responsibility of looking after Alex and Mia as promised, Kale is up to his ears in problems and no solutions. How will Kale save Ella, keep Alex and Mia safe, control Jace as well as control the Bloodlust that creeps beneath the surface waiting to be released? Will Kale be Ella’s savior or will he convict her to a fate worse than the one Laurent has already promised her?

What truths will she learn?

Ella knows that the choices she makes affects not only her but everyone else around her, but what about the choices made to find her? Ella learns the truth about the death of her parents, learns that the ones she thought she could trust aren’t so trustworthy after all.

How will Ella handle these betrayals, and will she be able to sacrifice what is necessary to obtain eternal life?

Excerpt:
“You should be sleeping Ella.” Kale’s voice was low and sent warm _______ up my spine.

“I couldn't sleep.” That wasn’t a lie. Though I was exhausted, a nightmare had me grasping for some form of reality. I needed the one person that grounded me and made me feel safe.

Kale’s voice was soft and full of concern. “Why not? Is it Jace?”

            “No, it’s not Jace.”

“Then what is it?”

“Doesn’t ______,” I fumbled with the phone suddenly nervous about my phone call. I didn’t want us to argue about my ________ to stay with Jace versus going back to Alex’s parent’s house. I needed Kale and what hurt the most was that the only thing separating this time was him. Well, not Kale, but la Luxure inside of him. We had accomplished and overcome so much, but still, here we were with another hurdle placed in front of us. Mother Nature couldn’t even make a mountain as big as the hurdle before us.

Kale sighed. “What is it?” My silence must have made him realize that something was wrong, but I didn't want to worry him. I just ______ to hear his voice.

“Nothing, it was nothing that you need to be concerned about I _______.”

“Hmm… You are a horrible liar.” Kale chuckled.

“Well, I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“Yeah, you would.”

“I miss you,” I whispered. I was scared Kale would give me the whole, ‘You have to move on for your own safety,’ speech. I closed my eyes and waited for the words that always seemed to come. My heart pumped in my chest and I had to fight control my breathing.

“I miss you too.” His words brought a smile to my face. I relaxed into my pillow and then turned to my side. The light from the moon illuminated the room enough for me to see the bag I’d packed placed under the desk and not for the first time, I doubted that I had made the right decision to leave Kale back in Moose Nose. “He’s dangerous,” Jace said over and over and unfortunately Kale agreed, but there was something that kept me _________ if Jace had an ulterior motive.

“I was ________ about you and I wanted to hear your voice,” I snuggled under the warmth covers. I missed the few days that Kale and I had together before la Luxure made him go all crazy. I missed his arms ______ me as we slept, the warmth of his breath as he placed his mouth on my neck for the sweetest goodnight kiss I'd ever experienced, but most of all I missed the waking up in his arms.

“What were you thinking about me?” Kale asked in a breathy voice. It was amazing to be able to _____ an intimacy with Kale yet know that there was still so much more to explore with him, but I was still lonely. I still needed the reassurance that he would fight for us even when he thought that he would only bring me pain and sadness. “Is it my sexy voice, boyish good looks or maybe my breath taking kisses?” Kale added a noisy kiss for good measure and I couldn’t help but to laugh.

“Honestly, I can’t get your kisses out of my head, but that wasn’t all I was thinking about at the moment.”

“Naughty girl,” Kale growled and I chuckled.

“Learned from the best,” I said _______ a yawn. “Will you stay on the phone with me until I fall asleep again?” I squeezed my eyes tighter refusing to let the tears fall. I was stronger than before and I had a plan. I knew it would work and I also realized that I would have to ask Jace to help me get to the Council of Immortals in Alaska, but I still had faith in my plan. If Kale could sacrifice his life and the things he held close to his heart for me, then I would do my part in keeping us ________.

“Ella, I’d give anything to be there beside you.” I could hear the sincerity in his voice and it fueled my desire to be with him.

“I __________ that for now, this will have to work,” I said fighting another yawn.

            “For now?”

“We will be together soon Kale, you may not believe it but it will happen. We have been through far too much to give up now.” My hopes were up, hell, they had blasted through the ceiling, but I wasn’t going to tell Kale why because he’d fight me on it and I couldn't have that.

“Go to sleep Ella, I’ll stay on the phone with you.” Kale’s voice still held doubt but I had enough faith for the ____ of us.

“No,” feeling a bit defiant I continued, “I want you to talk to me, Kale.” I heard him sigh on the other end of the phone. It didn't sound annoying or restless, but I had to wonder. When would this get old to him? Yes, he’d followed me throughout time and yes, he _____ my soul, but how long could he hold on to himself and beat la Luxure?  There was so much at stake and I couldn't let that get me down nor could I let him doubt our future. “Want to hear a secret?” I asked lowering my voice. There was a brief moment of silence before Kale spoke.

“Yes, tell me.” ____________ laced his voice and I stifled a giggle. “And then to bed, baby.” I almost groaned when he called me baby. His terms of endearment always made me melt, just a little, even when I was angry or sad.

“I dream about you,” I ________ with a smile. There were times at night where my dreams of Kale would wake me up. My heart would stutter or pound in my chest; I’d be short of breath thinking of the life he and I could start when all of this was over.

“You dream of me?” Kale chuckled. “That isn’t some big secret seeing as how I often daydream about you. Ella, I have dreamed about the life that I know you deserve and the life that you will more than likely have with me, but most of all I dream about dating you, learning your wants and fears, _________ for an apartment with you and living in the shack in some Podunk town.” It was nice to know that Kale’s dreams of our future were attainable. “Then placing a ring on your finger, we’d walk down the aisle where the people we love gathered and watched as we make the ultimate commitment.”

“Oh God Kale we can have that,” I said.

“What _____ kids, I can never give you any.” I started to lie and say that I didn't want kids, but I was way too young to make a decision like that. “The Council of Immortals will always hunt me and that would include you even if you weren’t the Arc. You will have to run with me and I can’t convict you to a life like that, I just can’t and the more you ask it of me the harder it is for me to do the right thing and walk away.”  How dare he make this decision for the both of us?

“I agree that you ______ do the right thing, Kale, but you don’t get to decide what is or isn’t good for me, it should be a decision we make together. Now, promise me you will think about it.”

“I promise, now go to sleep, Ella. I’ll still be here in this cage when you wake.” I didn't speak. I closed my eyes and let sleep take me. He wouldn’t be in that cage ____ longer no matter what he thought.

No Turning Back Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have author K.B. Miller and I can not tell you how excited I am to be participating in this blog tour. Not only is K.B. and amazing author she is also one of my best friends well actually she is my Soul Sister and one of the best presents I got over a year ago. We came into each others lives when we both needed something but didn't know what until we connected. On today of all days as it's K.B.'s birthday a day up until recently she hasn't celebrated (which we learn more about later in her guest post) I can't be happier to be celebrating her birthday with her. So let's get started and get to know more about K.B. and her EPIC books. Make sure you read all the way through as K.B. has donated an ecopy of Haunted Moon and you'll have to answer a question and the answer will be in the post somewhere.

A family secret kept hidden has been exposed, and the consequences could be deadly.

After Lilyann Moon's beloved grandmother dies shrouded by a veil of mystery, she and her young family members are yanked from their completely normal lives and catapulted directly into the supernatural world of witchcraft. A world they know absolutely nothing about.

The town of Hampstead, Maryland has no idea of the monsters that lurk in their midst. Or, of the dangers they will face if the Moon Coven doesn't figure out how to embrace the magick within each of them, especially Lily.
She's suddenly up to her little pointy black hat in magickal problems. Destiny presented her with one more, and it's a big one - vampires.
The only bright spot in this nightmare was meeting Mason. But, is she in love with the enemy? Lilyann is in a race against time to save her town and coven. Will she survive the coming dangers, with her heart and neck intact?

It all comes down to this one night...

All Hallows Eve.

My Review:
This book has Witches, Vampires, Ghosts, and a family secret. All of which make for a fun page turning ride.

Lily Moon has just lost her grandmother and soon afterwards finds out she is a witch along with all her cousins. Not only that but they are the most powerful Coven around. They have to learn the craft fast before the vampires close in and kill them all. But with the help of the sexy vampire Mason they just might be able to handle their new destiny and prove to everyone why the Moon Coven is so powerful.

Kymberlee writes an amazing world that will have you falling in love with all the characters even the bad ones. The details in this book are so good. You are never lost with any of the characters and what they are going through. We have unanswered questions. I love all the characters especially Lily, Mason, and Izzy the cat. I can not wait for the next book to see what happens with the Coven and the Vampires.

Through first love, family secrets, destiny, self confidence, and everything that ties a strong family together. Compulsion will leave you wanting more.

Before Lilyann stepped into her destiny to lead the coven, there was another powerful Moon witch...her grandmother.

A teenage witch-to-be in Galway, Ireland, Leeny Moon was prepared to take her rightful place in the circle along side of her family. That was until she witnessed firsthand the forthcoming nightmares she would be expected to face, vampires.

The fight between good versus evil begins here...

An exclusive ebook novella of K.B. Miller's Moon Coven Series.

The Moon Coven Series fans asked for more of Granny Moon and I responded. This novella samples a small snippet from her youth. Enjoy~

My Review:
I loved this novella. Being able to see another side of Lenny before she became a kick butt Wiccan was great.

We get to meet her at sixteen right before she becomes member of the Moon Coven and see her struggle with becoming a witch and fighting for those she is suppose to protect. But one day everything changes when her sister is threatened. Lenny looks into herself and finds the courage she needs to stand up to the vampires and accept her place in the Coven.

I loved the little bit we earned about Lenny in Compulsions so when I heard there was going to be a novella about her I was so excited. And let me tell you K.B. did not disappoint me with. I had imagined Lenny has this strong kick butt witch all the time but just like Lily she had doubts. But when it mattered most Lenny found the courage she needed. I can see so much of Lily in Lenny. I can’t wait to read more and learn about Lenny has the series goes. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Guest Post:
Since today’s my birthday, I decided to write this guest post on a matter that is very near and dear to my heart ... Breast Cancer awareness.  I’m sure some of you out there are thinking ... why the hell would she want to write about Breast Cancer awareness for her birthday?  Well, that’s a very good question.  Here’s the answer...
On April 2, 2001, as I enjoyed hanging out with my friends on my birthday, the wheels of fate were already in motion at my parents’ home.  You see, my Mom had been diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer.  All of us continued to hold out hope that a cure would be found before it could take her from us... from the world.  I received a phone call at 7:30 pm from my Mom to wish me a happy birthday.  I thanked her and we chatted for a few minutes.  They had her on so much pain medication at that time that she was only coherent for short spurts.  She told me that she loved me and we ended the call.  I went on to have a great night.
The next morning, I got a frantic phone call from my Dad telling me to get down to my parents house as quickly and safely as possible.  He wouldn’t say why, just that my husband and I needed to get there.  When I walked in the door after the hour long drive, it was too late.  My mother had passed.  Sad, right?  It is. Actually, it’s epically tragic.  Do you want to know why?
My mother found the lump in her left breast four months before she would tell the doctor.  She was afraid of a mammogram.  So, this is what I’m asking all of my fans to get me for my birthday.  Men, encourage the women in your life to check their breasts. Women, check your breasts.  If you feel something that shouldn’t be there, go to the doctors.  Mammograms do NOT hurt.  They are not invasive.
What I want the most in this world for my birthday, I can NEVER have, ever again... my Mom.  But, I can have the next best thing.  That is that not one more single person will die from this horrible disease.  Spouses won’t be left alone to put the pieces back together.  Children won’t cry into their pillows for their mothers.  I don’t celebrate my birthday anymore.  I can’t.  It’s too painful.
But, together we can make sure that another family is affected.  Please show your support to Breast Cancer Awareness.  To all of the cancer survivors reading this... You are my heroes and I love you <3
Love,
K.B. Miller

Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about me...

Seriously, if I wrote a book about myself it would take you ten minutes to read and you would be bored stiff after the first two! LOL

I'm a full-time writer, wife, and mother. Which basically means there's always a surplus of pencils lost somewhere in my hair, I usually have some place to be (I'm always late), I have a bad habit of calling family and friends random character's names (from my books), I talk to myself because no one else listens to me, and I can throw together a mean dinner for eight with only ten minutes notice and four ingredients in the pantry, LOL.
If you can't find me on the sidelines of my sons' football games, online, cooking, cleaning, shopping, at the local coffee joint or on the phone wandering aimlessly throughout my house then I've probably hidden myself in my "bat-cave" to write.
I have a positive attitude, and absolute fun-loving approach to life. That makes it easy for the voices in my head to take over on a regular basis providing endless hours of entertainment for my pleasure, and hopefully yours.
Random facts about me:
~My favorite color is pink

~I have a Bishon Frise puppy named Cullen Edward

~My favorite music is hip-hop
~I have a severe addiction to coffee. So much so, that those in my inner circle refuse to speak to me before caffeine O'clock! True Story

Enjoy the ride.

Allusive Aftershock Blog Tour

I'm so excited to be participating in this blog tour. I love the cover and even though I was nervous about reading this book I am so happy I did. So let's get started and get to know more about the author, the book, oh and giveaway.

I daydream often. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play--a dreadful disaster; though not from my writing, of course, I must blame it on the acting.
The craft of writing, although dormant for years, never really left me. Many years later, and with the help of technology, I let my imagination run wild again.
Born in a small town in Pennsylvania, I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns. I tend to lean toward the unusual and spooky. I read all genres but I love reading paranormal romance and like writing in that genre.
My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running.
I live in Northern California with my very romantic husband, my small yippy dog, Riley, and my humungous black cat, Saké. My family consists of his and her children; four wonderful sons, one beautiful daughter, and seven grandchildren. My greatest love in life is my family and those large and ever growing holiday dinners.
I enjoy traveling. I hate running, but do it once in a while. Reading and writing are my favorite pastimes.

What happens when a major earthquake changes life as you know it and the boy you thought you hated ends up saving you? Three times!
Courtland Reese is the guy everyone hates and makes fun of because … well, he is weird. He communicates with animals. Strange or interesting, seventeen-year-old Adela Castielle can’t quite figure out, but when he saves her from being trampled by her own horse, she begins to understand him a little better and wants to learn more about him. But, Max--her best friend/dream guy/someday-to-be-her-husband-only-he-doesn’t-know-it-yet--hates Courtland with a passion. Adela wants to know why, except neither boy is talking. When Max leaves her stranded in his parents' wine cave with his worst enemy, Courtland, after what the experts are calling a “megathrust” earthquake, Adela starts to question her loyalty to Max as steamy kisses in a dark damp cellar only fuel her emotions with more conflict. But does she really have time to worry about that when fire, destruction and mayhem surround her?

Excerpt:
An explosion burst through the air and I almost jumped out of my skin. I turned toward the noise and stared in horror at the sight of the Arco gas station completely engulfed in flames. The fire immediately spread into a clump of trees between the station and the half-demolished grocery store about six feet from where Max stood.
“Max!” I screamed and leaped up forgetting about the clenching in my stomach.
Max hurried back and grabbed my hand again. We ran, hopping over broken brick, concrete, glass, and wood from collapsed buildings, swerving between and around abandoned cars stopped or smashed along the road. Max never let go of my hand. Trees and buildings consumed in flames glowered around us, the heat almost too much to bear. The scent of gas permeated the air along with the muck of smoke and debris. Water spewed up from a broken fire hydrant, knocked on its side by the delivery truck now perched on top of it and I gasped at the sight of a bloodied man’s head hanging out the window.
I wanted to be home more than anything now. Did we even have a home? Were my mom and dad okay? The twins? What about Big Blue? I fought back tears, trying to convince myself they were all fine and probably wondering where I was. I squeezed my eyes shut to picture my mom pacing the living room, worrying and telling my dad they needed to find me.
All of a sudden, we stopped running. I glanced up to see why and gaped with horror at the road in front of us. The broken asphalt had buckled into a pile about twelve feet high, obstructing our way. The crumbled debris from the buildings on both sides blocked the entire area. With the newly formed abyss in front of us and the out-of-control inferno behind us closing in fast, we were trapped.

My Review:
I wasn’t sure I would like this story due to the earthquake and aftershocks destroying California story line but I was so wrong. I loved it and could not put it down.

California is rocked with devastating earthquakes and aftershocks. Adela and Max who have been best friends forever set off to find their families and on their way they run into Court another boy from their school who is hurt. The three of them have to come together to try and survive while trying to find out if their families are still alive. With Court hurt Max leaves to try and find food and help while he is gone another quake happens trapping Adela and Court in the cellar. They start to have feelings for one another.

I really loved how the story is told from Adela and Court so we really get to see how the devastation affects everyone from different perspectives. I immediately felt a connection with Court. He is just a sweet guy that you just fall in love with. He is so compassionate towards animals and people in general. Not to mention he is cute and his love for Adela really comes through. Adela is a sweet girl who loves her family even though at times she annoyed me when he came to Max and her treatment of Court. But as I read more I really started to connect to her. Max I just didn’t like. He was such a jerk at the beginning of the story but as the story went and things happened I started to like him a little. We really get to see the growth in the characters as the story goes and see how mature they become in dealing with such hard decisions.
With the real possibility of the events happening in this book I was nervous to read it at first but I am glad I got over my fears and made myself read. Allusive Aftershock is filled with love, heart break, and loss that will have you laughing, crying, and finally left with hope that things will work out even when it feels like it won’t. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

A New Adult Contemporary Romance

After finishing design school six months ago, Erin Angelo left her tragic past behind in the States and started a new life in Milan, Italy. Burying the grief, silencing her demons, and living a life without any real attachments has worked well for her so far. But when Erin secures her first real job as a budding clothing designer, her controlled world is shaken to its core by the mysteriously sexy director of the local symphony.

Alek Dostov is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. He’s successful, hot, the son of a millionaire, and women all over the world flock to see one of his performances. For Alek, Erin represents the ultimate challenge: sexy, smart, and unaffected by his charms…or so she thinks. Just like Erin, Alek avoids attachments that leave him emotionally vulnerable. But unlike Erin, his pursuit of all things pleasurable is ruthless.

Knowing how wary they both are concerning any kind of committed relationship, Alek finds a way to pursue Erin, satisfying the intense attraction between them without sacrificing the freedom they both enjoy. Sometimes the deepest passion brings out the darkest emotions. And Erin finds herself completely unprepared for the forbidden world of the young maestro and his truths and even his secrets, as she struggles to deal with her own.

Music, passion, betrayal and forbidden love spun together in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

This novel contains sexual situations and mature language. It is intended for an audience at 17+ years of age.

I think I’m going to pass out. Whoa! What just happened out there? The most gorgeous, successful, beautifully arrogant man ever just kissed my hand. My best friend, Selene is going to hate me for being so lucky. I can’t wait to tell her.
“Alright, chill out, Cinderella.” I walk through my door and let all the pretense, aka Miss Control USA, go flying out the window. I hop right up in the middle of my living room floor and start doing my hot damn dance.
So, yeah, Alek’s statement about the prelude freaked me out for a second. The word reminded me of something Jada used to say. His line was just the tiniest bit corny, too. But I meant what I said when I told him I thought his words were cute. He can say anything with that accent and get away with it.
I glance at my watch. 10p.m. It’s too early to call Selene. She works as a bartender in Florence. Sometimes her nights don’t end until around 2am.
I sniff the contract Alek gave me. His scent still lingers on the paper, reminding me of the day I first experienced the scent of his cologne. That was the day I fell on my butt, and he offered me his jacket to cover my body. He’s a true gentleman. Well, maybe a little.
So what if the gesture came after I had bolted for the door because he was looking me up and down at first. I feel myself forgiving his neglect to inform me of his true identity. He’s yet to explain himself. I consider agreeing to meet him for dinner just so he can tell me why he led me to believe he was an assistant.
I shower and throw on my Betty Boop sleeping shirt, a pair of booties, and then try to bring my racing thoughts back under control. Heading to my bedroom, I lie down on the bed and pull out a romance novel Selene let me borrow.
She thinks I’m destined to become either a nun or a homicidal maniac. Her reasoning being that no normal person goes without sex as long as I have done. Selene’s boyfriend and my old design lab partner from school, Christopher, even chimed in to help drill the thought into me one day when the two of them visited. I study the book in my hands.
This just doesn’t seem right. Erin Angelo is pulling out a romance novel and actually considering reading it. Now I know something’s wrong with me.
