Today on my blog I have the Liars, Inc blog tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, guest post, and giveaway.
For fans of Gone Girl, I Hunt Killers, and TV's How to Get Away with Murder.
Max Cantrell has never been a big fan of the truth, so when the opportunity arises to sell forged permission slips and cover stories to his classmates, it sounds like a good way to make a little money and liven up a boring senior year. With the help of his friends Preston and Parvati, Max starts Liars, Inc. Suddenly everybody needs something and the cash starts pouring in. Who knew lying could be so lucrative?
When Preston wants his own cover story to go visit a girl he met online, Max doesn’t think twice about hooking him up. Until Preston never comes home. Then the evidence starts to pile up—terrifying clues that lead the cops to Preston’s body. Terrifying clues that point to Max as the murderer.
Can Max find the real killer before he goes to prison for a crime he didn’t commit? In a story that Kirkus Reviews called "Captivating to the very end," Paula Stokes starts with one single white lie and weaves a twisted tale that will have readers guessing until the explosive final chapters.

CASE CA4153-228
INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT
LEAD INVESTIGATOR: McGhee, James,
Special Agent
SECONDARY INVESTIGATOR: Gonzalez, Alex,
Special Agent
PERSON OF INTEREST: Amos, Parvati
LEGAL GUARDIAN PRESENT: Bhatnagar-Amos,
Priya, JD
Agent
McGhee: Thanks for agreeing to speak with us tonight.
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: My daughter and I want to help in any way that we can.
Agent
McGhee: Parvati, how well do you know Preston?
Parvati
Amos: We’ve been friends for a little over, hmm, three years now.
Agent
McGhee: Were the two of you ever romantically involved?
Parvati
Amos: No.
Agent
McGhee: Did you ever want to be?
Parvati:
I mean, I guess I had a little crush on him when I first met him, but so did
half of the freshman class. He’s hot, he’s funny, he’s rich—there’s a lot to
like. But once we got to be friends, I realized he wasn’t my type.
Agent
McGhee: What about Max Cantrell?
Parvati
Amos: Yeah, Max is my type. But we’re just friends too.
Agent
Gonzalez: But you used to date, correct? Some of your classmates said all three
of you seem close.
Parvati
Amos: Why are you asking me questions you already know the answer to?
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: Parvati. Don’t be rude.
Agent
Gonzalez: We’re just trying to establish some baseline facts.
Parvati
Amos: Max and I were together for a few months, yeah.
Agent
McGhee: This is difficult to ask, but at any point were you, Max, and Preston
all…intimately involved?
Parvati
Amos: Are you asking me if my best friends and I were all hooking up with each
other? No. Trust me when I say neither one of those guys likes to share. We’re
just friends—all three of us. It’s really not that unusual.
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: What does this have to do with Preston’s disappearance?
Agent
McGhee: Sorry. We just wanted to clarify a rumor. Do you know if there was
anyone at school who wanted to hurt Preston?
Parvati
Amos: Not likely. Pres is a golden child. Beloved football star. Party-thrower
of epic proportions. Like I said—there’s a lot to like.
Agent
McGhee: Did he mention any recent problems outside of school? Family stuff?
Anything political going on with his dad that was worrying him?
Parvati
Amos: I know the political stuff got old after a while. His parents kind of
cracked down on him once his dad made the short list for Secretary of Labor.
But nothing major. That’s all just part of being a politician’s kid, right?
Agent
McGhee: Where were you on December 3rd?
Parvati
Amos: Saturday? Let’s see. Newspaper club in the morning. Then I went for a
run. Then I had my Arabic lesson.
Agent
McGhee: And that night?
Parvati
Amos: I was at home. I did a little homework and then we watched a movie, right
Mom?
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: Ah, yes. Your father and his undying love for Liam Neeson.
Agent
McGhee: And what did you do on Sunday?
Parvati
Amos: Hmm. Karate class. Went for a run. Did some homework. Family dinner.
Watched a little TV.
Agent
McGhee: And when’s the last time you saw Max Cantrell?
Parvati
Amos: Yesterday at school.
Agent
Gonzalez: Not today?
Parvati
Amos: He was absent today. It’s his birthday and Max isn’t really must of a
student. I figure his parents let him skip.
Agent
McGhee: Just one last question. Do you know where Max is right now?
Parvati
Amos: I’d assume he’s at home. Or maybe working at his parents’ shop?
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: He hasn’t gone missing as well, has he? Is my daughter in
danger?
Agent
McGhee: No need to panic, ma’am, but I would like to speak with you and your
husband privately for a few moments. Parvati, could you go get your father from
the lobby?
Parvati
Amos: Why can’t I stay?
Priya
Bhatnagar-Amos: Because they said privately. Just go get your father, please.
Agent
McGhee: Thank you for your time.
