Demon Killer Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have the Demon Killer blog tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, excerpt and review.

Attacked by a soldier of the demon race, a young woman has a child from their union. To her horror, he bears the mark of the demon, and her people will stop at nothing to kill it. Being part fairy, Azra uses her magic to try and save her child from his demon blood. In spite of her best efforts, he briefly turns into the monstrous Sartwor beast, slaying her entire village.

A perilous journey to the home of the pure blood fairies ensues as she races to save Bretuck before he turns into the beast again. This time she may not be able to pull him from the grasp of the creature ruling his body. Can a mother's love prevail over her son's cursed blood?

Excerpt:
Rounding a tree, she came face to face with a scene from hell and what must be an escaped beast from its bowels. A huge, hulking creature stood over the mangled and torn remains of several villagers. Its skin was a dark green, knotted with strange configurations of flesh on its skin, as if its muscle fought for dominance and pushed upward into the flesh from beneath. A weepy wetness made the skin shiny and oily; it reeked of slaughtering pens where the leavings had rotted for a day in the hot air.
The putrid ripe odor caused Azra to grab her nose and also gained the beast’s attention. As its eyes pinned her location, she was frozen, couldn’t move if her life depended on it -– and it did. The gaping mouth filled with two-inch horrific jagged teeth opened as if pleased with her presence. Blood, bits of flesh and dripping strings of saliva drooled from its jaws as it started toward her.
“Tarsha!” She commanded loudly, thrusting both arms outward at the same time. It was a powerful word, one used to immobilize. The nightmarish creature shook its head slightly, as if she had muddled its thoughts temporarily, then thudded the few steps it took to be within striking distance.
One solitary tear trickled down her cheek as she whispered, “Bretuck, I’m sorry.”
The beast stumbled, then straightened, a stunned look crossed its grotesque face.
A gurgling “augh” poured from its rasping throat.
The thing screeched in agony, plunged to its knees with a crash and lifted its tortured eyes to hers with a pitiful expression, if such were possible with such a beast. A quiver of responding pity flashed through her and horrified at her reaction, Azra took a step backward. The monster thrust his arms toward and cried out.

Review:
I was hooked on this book from the blurb alone but the story that Myra has written is so good. She does an excellent job of mixing the Fae and Demons in this book. Both of which I like because they are dark and with it being close to Halloween it was the perfect read.

The story of Azra attempting to save her son from everyone who is trying to kill him is powerful and magical. It shows that a mother will do anything to save her child. I was rooting for her the whole time. But if you want to know if a mother’s love is enough you will have to read Demon Killer and highly suggest you do. It’s that good and I will be looking for more of Myra’s books to devour. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Book News:

I'm excited to be a part of a new Paranormal Boxed Set coming out just in time for Halloween, SEDUCTIVE SUPERNATURALS! It will release October 20th and it features 12 authors with 6 full novels and 6 novellas... Hope you'll check it out! It's up for preorder now: http://goo.gl/dtb5Bc

Favorite Halloween Memory:

One year I dressed up as a werewolf and we wanted it to look authentic, so we collected yarn lint from my Mom's textile mill and stuck it onto all my exposed skin with double-faced tape. It hurt like CRAZY to get it off, but I looked awesome and won best costume out of my whole elementary school! LOL

Top 10 List/Halloween Movies (Werewolf):

#10 - Not my favorite, but without him, we might not have werewolf movies! Plus my werewolf hero in MOONLIGHT named his Jeep, Chaney, after the man who put werewolves on the map… THE WOLF MAN

#9 - You can’t go wrong with Stephen King. This one is creepy and scary! Not one of my favorite though because you never really have any empathy for the werewolf… For me, werewolf movies are about knowing the man behind the wolf. - SILVER BULLET

#8 - Okay this one was cheesy and silly, but you can’t help but fall in love with Michael J. Fox and his wolf family. I haven’t seen the tv show yet, but if you’ve never seen the movie, you should check it out. It won’t change your view of werewolves, but I bet it’ll make you smile. - TEEN WOLF

#7 - This movie got panned by the critics, but I enjoyed it for what it was. The atmosphere was very creepy and the fear of the townspeople about the wolf was palpable. I loved the two men you thought might be the wolf, and I won’t spoil the ending. If you love werewolves, don’t pass this one by. - RED RIDING HOOD

#6 - Okay you might be scratching your head here, but hear me out… This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and Rutger Hauer is cursed to be a wolf by night, so he’s not a traditional full moon werewolf, but I think it still counts, right? Also the scene where he and Michelle Phifer start shifting (she’s cursed to be a hawk by day) and they almost touch… Heartbreaking! Love this movie! So it might not be a traditional howl at the moon werewolf movie, but definitely worth seeing! - LADYHAWKE

#5 - I wish I had seen this one in the theaters. I let wishy-washy reviews keep me away and watched it on HBO instead, but WOW! I thought the special effects in this one were AMAZING! The dark tones of all the lighting and the gothic feel of the atmosphere put it over the top! I thought it was also fabulously acted with just enough romance to tear your heart out at the end. - THE WOLFMAN (Anthony Hopkins)

#4 - I can remember when MTV first started and we didn’t have cable! *pout* I went to a friend’s house when Thriller premiered and we squealed with delight and waited to watch it over and over. I love that at the end Michael wasn’t a vampire, he looked up at the moon and turned around as a werewolf creature… Nice! Add in VIncent Price’s laugh and this video never ever gets old. - MICHAEL JACKSON'S THRILLER

#3 - LOVE this movie!!!! The rich backstory that began the battle between the vampires and the lycans made for an action-packed film with werewolves to DIE FOR!!! Loved all the passion and forbidden love… The special effects were also amazing. You definitely feel for the werewolves in this one. - UNDERWORLD

#2 - Hugh Jackman as a werewolf. Need I say more? *ahem*

It was a really wild ride of a movie with fun special effects and an ending that made me cry! (OF course I’m a total sap so your movie mileage may vary) Love this one and the Dracula was fabulous too!!! - VAN HELSING

#1 - My all-time still-to-this-day favorite werewolf movie is An American Werewolf in London. It’s got funny cheesy moments like all the dead in different states of decay haunting him in a movie theater, but man is it ever fun! I’ve never seen another werewolf movie like it and it still has lots of heart even after all these years! - AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON

Great list of werewolf movies! I have a lot of the same ones as Lisa does.

Thank you for stopping by my blog for day 1 of my 31 Days of Halloween celebration. I would also like to say Thank You to Lisa for participating and for offering up 1 ebook of her book Moonlight.

Lost in the Beat Release Day Blast

Available September 23rd!

Rhythm is the heart of every song.

Jase Collins lives for the stage and the perks of rock stardom. His wild antics and high-profile affairs have earned the sexy drummer the title of Hot Wired’s bad boy. He’s not quite as jaded as his fans think—but just jaded enough not to recognize the best thing that’s ever happened to him until she walks out of his life. And he doesn’t even know her name.

But without harmony a man is lost.

Fallon Morgan has had her life mapped out since high school. She’s earned a full ride scholarship to UCLA with the driving goal of earning her doctorate. Nothing can derail her dreams—except maybe a one-night stand with the infamous Jase Collins. His chilly reception the morning after convinces her to put her biggest mistake in the past and move on without looking back.

When two hearts begin to beat as one…
When Fallon’s life takes a dramatic turn, she finds herself with no one else to turn to for help. Jase is obnoxious, demanding, and yet surprisingly tender. Though it chafes her to depend on him, the more time she spends with him changes her perceptions of the bad boy rocker. With each passing day she finds more and more faith in the man behind the public persona. If she can learn to trust her feelings, she might be willing to risk her heart.

They could find themselves Lost in the Beat!

Every cell in Fallon’s body wanted to rebel on principal. Like the good girl she was, she succumbed to Jase’s demands. “Do you ever not get what you want?”
“Yeah.” He stepped right into her personal space, knocking his very naked chest against her breasts.
The way her nipples protruded upon contact, they might as well have been naked against his flesh. The simultaneous dampness in her panties unnerved her. Damn her traitorous body! She ignored the pulsing between her thighs and coerced her libido to focus on him and not her body’s yearnings.
He lifted his hand and wrapped his fingers around her ponytail. A slow, gentle pull on her hair and he notched her head back. “Twice last year I didn’t get what I wanted.” He sounded put out by the inconvenience.
Proof he lives a charmed life! That was as good as always getting his way in her valuation. She’d endured many more disappointments than that in the past year.
His sapphire-blue eyes looked black in the dim lighting. “Care to know what those two were?”
If she said no, then he’d suspect she predicted those disappointments centered on her.
“I’ll take your silence as a yes. Number one…I didn’t want Sam and Fang together.” Surprised, her eyes widened at his confession. The tabloids would pay good money for that juicy tidbit. “Didn’t think they were right for one another. Gave them a lot of hell for that.” He shrugged. “My accident—you heard about that, right?” At her nod, he went on. “It reminded me how short life is, so I gave them my blessing to be together.”
Fallon licked her lips, suspecting his sister hadn’t really needed his blessing to do what she wanted. “It was the right thing to do.”
A humorous glint sparkled in his eyes. “I’m not known for doing the right thing, darlin’. Like now.”
She frowned. “What do you mean?”
He adjusted his hand, sliding it along her ponytail, before burying his fingers into the coil of her strands beneath the snug grip of the rubber band. His other arm curled around her shoulders, drawing her tight against his frame. Her heart pounded in her ears, and he smelled good.
Jase nipped her bottom lip and at her sharp gasp, he took advantage and slid his tongue into her mouth. The cool minty taste of him verified he’d taken the time to brush his teeth.
Her eyelids fluttered shut, and she groaned upon his first contact, a slow drag of his tongue against hers. The immediate surge of wetness that drenched her panties scandalized her.
Her eyelids snapped open, and she spied him watching her. Fine lines creased the corners of his eyes. Again and again his tongue caressed hers, reminding her how he’d licked her breasts and between her legs.
More moisture dampened her panties, and her passage clenched in need. She compressed her thighs, but that action caused her ache to grow instead of abate as she’d intended. He withdrew from her mouth, and she almost botched stifling her groan of disappointment. Awed by the effect Jase asserted over her body, she stared at his lips. She’d lost all sense of restraint when he’d put them on her.
Just like the first time.
“You were the second thing I wanted last year.” He removed his arm from her shoulders and ran his thumb along her jaw. “I had private investigators search for you, but they repeatedly came up empty-handed.”
Stunned by the admission, she wasn’t sure what to make of it or if she even believed him. “Why’d you have P.I.’s looking for me?”
“Because you’re the one that got away.”
Jase looked serious. He didn’t flinch away from her direct stare. Didn’t grin, didn’t even blink. But the idea that she was ‘the one that got away’ was ludicrous…Fallon snorted, calling bullshit. She bet he said that to every woman he wanted to screw. While he could have his pick of women, she was a convenient lay.
I am no one’s dupe.
“This chick isn’t stupid enough to believe that line.”
A flash of hurt pinched his features. His mouth parted as if he’d say something, but he settled for shaking his head and dragging his fingers through his hair.
Their sultry spell demolished, she watched him, refusing to allow herself to regret her callous honesty. He could have any woman he wanted, but she wasn’t for sale.
Jase released his hold on her and picked up the keys and cell she’d dropped on the floor. He placed them on the counter and met her gaze dead-on. “You’re obviously not as intelligent as I thought you were either.”
