Today on my blog I h ave the Shrouded in Blackness Blog Tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, review, and giveaway.

Only loyalty can truly win his heart…

Gangs, organized crime and underground bare-knuckle fighting make up the world that Kieran Delaney thrives within. His reputation is built on the talent of his fists, as much as his ability to get information about any and everything. Never one to be caught by surprise or bested, Kieran knows what you’re going to do before you do it…until Darcy Quinlan enters his life. She introduces herself with a knife to his throat and a promise of unbridled pain. Darcy’s life has been destroyed by betrayal and false promises of safety. Living on the streets for the last eight years, she’s has been a ghost. Never in one place long enough to be seen because you can’t catch what isn’t there. Now Kieran sees her and can’t erase her image from his mind.

Kieran and Darcy must now battle to keep her alive and by his side. As her past enters her life from every angle, Kieran makes certain her safety is no longer a concern, annihilating her demons at every corner. He’ll fight, he’ll maim, he’ll torture and he’ll murder to keep Darcy protected. If Kieran can win, her life will no longer be shrouded in blackness…loyalty will lift the veil.

Review:

This is not my usual type of book but when I got asked to read the first book in this series for a blog tour I accepted and I am so glad cause when this tour came up I jumped at the chance to read more from Norma. She is defiantly an author to watch as she pulls you into her world and makes you fall in love with her characters and go along with the ride right along with them. If I could get you to try one new author this year this is defiantly the one I hope you do. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. 5/5 Bloody Fangs

Blackness Takes Over was Norma Jeanne's debut novel. What began as an homage to the home town of a homesick Midwestern girl, unfolded a story of love, danger, humor, and trust. Blackness Awaits was the highly anticipated continuation of Blackness Takes Over, leading readers through the twists and turns of the unconventional world in The Blackness Series. Her third novel, Shrouded in Blackness, ventures into a criminal world where violence and vengeance reign supreme. She's currently working on her untitled fourth novel.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Norma Jeanne recently found herself relocating to the United Kingdom. Now living in Belfast, she took hold of the opportunity to kick the 9-5 job for a chance to become an author. The best part: working from her home office, she gets to spend more time with her cast of crazy characters (written and real).

In her free time Norma Jeanne is a voracious reader and consumes books as readily as meals. She is a people watcher by nature and uses her experiences in life, observed or otherwise, to build the worlds and characters that thrive in her books. A believer in the strength of the human spirit, Norma Jeanne writes the stories of people that persevere when all appears to be lost.

Scandal Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have the Scandal blog tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, review, and giveaway.

Lucy’s learned some important lessons from tabloid darling Jayla Heart’s all-too-public blunders: Avoid the spotlight, don’t feed the Internet trolls, and keep your secrets secret. The policy has served Lucy well all through high school, so when her best friend Ellie gets sick before prom and begs her to step in as Cole’s date, she accepts with a smile, silencing about ten different reservations. Like the one where she’d rather stay home shredding online zombies. And the one where she hates playing dress-up. And especially the one where she’s been secretly in love with Cole since the dawn of time.

When Cole surprises her at the after party with a kiss under the stars, it’s everything Lucy has ever dreamed of… and the biggest BFF deal-breaker ever. Despite Cole’s lingering sweetness, Lucy knows they’ll have to ’fess up to Ellie. But before they get the chance, Lucy’s own Facebook profile mysteriously explodes with compromising pics of her and Cole, along with tons of other students’ party indiscretions. Tagged. Liked. And furiously viral.

By Monday morning, Lucy’s been branded a slut, a backstabber, and a narc, mired in a tabloid-worthy scandal just weeks before graduation.

Lucy’s been battling undead masses online long enough to know there’s only one way to survive a disaster of this magnitude: Stand up and fight. Game plan? Uncover and expose the Facebook hacker, win back her best friend’s trust, and graduate with a clean slate.

There’s just one snag—Cole. Turns out Lucy’s not the only one who’s been harboring unrequited love…

Review:
Lucy has stepped into the role of prom date for his best friend who is home sick with the flu the only issue is Lucy has been in love with her best friend Ellie’s boyfriend Cole for years now. So agreeing to go with Cole was probably not her best idea but she has never been able to say no to Ellie. But Lucy thinks she will go to the prom and take some photos, dance to a few songs, and be home to play her favorite zombie killing game in no time. She didn’t count on Cole taking her to the after party where everything goes horribly wrong the next day. While at the party not only does she kiss Cole but she loses her phone and somebody has taken a bunch of photos of her classmates at the party and uploaded them to her profile on facebook. Lucy’s whole class is mad at her but the only one she cares about trying to fix things with is her best friend Ellie but in order to do that she needs to find out who took her phone. With the help of some unlikely friends Lucy sets out to find out the culprit.

I liked the characters and storyline even though at times things seemed a little rushed to me. I liked Lucy she reminded me of myself a little when I was in school. We had the same attitude about things. Cole is defiantly a good guy. He is sweet and stands by Lucy through it all. I will defiantly be reading more from Sarah in the future. 3/5 Bloody Fangs

She’s been missing for more than 48 hours, and the authorities have not been able to find her. Sean goes undercover to bait the mysterious hunter. But when he becomes the prey, how will he rescue her?

Review:

I was a little lost in this book as I didn’t realize this was book two but with that being said I did enjoy the characters and storyline.

This book is aimed for younger kids but I think parents should read it also as the Ann is an advocate for children and keeping them safe especially while on the internet. I really liked how she takes real world issues and makes it into a fictional book filled with believable characters that make you want to keep turning the page to see just how they will handle the issues that is thrown at them. I highly recommend this books to younger kids and parents. 4/5 Bloody Fangs

Temptation By Fire Blog Tour

Today on my  blog I have the Temptation by Fire blog tour.

When Ava has a vision of a man's violent death, experience tells her she can't stop it from happening. For once, she's wrong. She saves him, but in doing so enters a world of manipulative demons and the men who hunt them.

Driven by the memory of his murdered family, Karson toils in the violent, thankless fight against demonkind. Masquerading as humans, demons are always a step ahead. But just when he thinks vengeance will be his, Ava shatters his plans and twists his focus.

Her powers have pushed her away from human contact, but this tattooed hunter with a battered heart draws Ava in. Working with the pretty little psychic is a challenge Karson can handle. But keeping his hands off of her is nearly impossible. With demons on their trail and Ava determined to make things right, keeping his heart safe will be just as tough as keeping Ava alive.

Excerpt:

Ava’s eyes met mine, and the understanding there almost broke me.
“I can’t imagine what you’ve gone through, Karson. And I won’t pretend I can even begin to wrap my mind around how that would feel. I would never ask you to give up your hunt for me,” Ava said.
Emotions rolled over me—so fast and hard I couldn’t quite grasp them. My old familiar pain, and new pain for her. They built under my skin, threatening to burst free if I didn’t find an outlet.
I pushed the bathroom door open the rest of the way. Ava let out a soft squeak, but I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. Brutally, I punished her with my mouth. I needed an outlet for my emotion. No. Not just an outlet. I needed her.
Only a moment of hesitation, and she was kissing me back. One hand clutched my shoulder while the other held on to her towel. Wrapping my arms around her, I pulled her closer, anger completely drowned by the passion she elicited in me.
“This is such a bad idea,” I murmured against her lips.
“Shut the hell up and quit thinking for once.”
Still wet from the shower, she clung to me as I kissed her neck. I nibbled my way to her shoulders and then in one sweeping motion, picked her up—towel and all. Then I carried her out of the bathroom and set her on her feet next to the bed.
I tugged lightly on the towel she still clutched, but didn’t try to take it from her. This was her decision, and even if it killed me, I would stop if she wanted me to.
“We don’t have—”

“Didn’t I tell you to be quiet?” Her words were teasing, but her voice was full with emotion. With a jerk of quick movement, her posture stiffened, and then she tossed the towel to the floor.

Today on my blog I have the Essence Blog Tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, 7 Favorite Books, and giveaway.

Autumn escaped a cult, but now she realizes she’s fallen into another.
Growing up in San Francisco’s Centrist Movement, sixteen year-old Autumn Grace has always believed emotions—adrenaline, endorphins, even happiness—drain your Essence and lead to an early death. But her younger brother’s passing and a run-in with a group of Outsiders casts her faith into question.

Ryder Stone, the sexy, rebellious leader of the Outsiders, claims Essence drain is nothing more than a Centrist scare tactic — and he can prove it.
Autumn follows Ryder to his Community of adrenaline junkies and free spirits in Yosemite National Park, and they introduce her to a life of adventure, romance, sex, drugs and freedom. But as she discovers dark secrets beneath the Community’s perfect exterior, she realizes the more she risks in search of the perfect rush, the further she has to fall.

Book Links:

Her background is in zookeeping and environmental education, and she has been kicked, cornered, bitten and chased by nearly every animal she has ever loved. She currently resides in Florida, and she is now a huge fan of shooting stars, indoor plumbing and keeping both her feet planted firmly on the trail.

7 Favorite Books:

The Sky is Everywhere, by Jandy Nelson

Could there possibly be a more perfect book out there? The Sky is Everywhere was so inspiring and beautiful and heartbreaking and hilarious that I couldn't put it down. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone--especially readers with siblings. I absolutely adored it.

Splintered, by A.G. Howard

Wow. I just can't get over the imaginative, lush and complex world of A.G. Howard's Splintered. Every single character was three-dimensional and unique, and every single detail was perfectly aligned with the rest to create a story that feels more like an amusement park ride than a young adult novel.

Wanderlove, by Kirsten Hubbard

Love, love, love this book. Beautiful and perfect and wonderful, with lush settings, three-dimensional characters and the sort of authenticity only a legit backpacker could muster. Wanderlove makes me want to dust off my backpack and hit the road again.

The Name of the Star, by Maureen Johnson

Such a refreshing and unique take on young adult fiction. I had no idea how this book was going to end until it ended, and I absolutely loved Johnson's evocative writing and her ability to give her readers such a unique sense of place. Rory was likable and unique, and I can't wait to read the sequel!

Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins

Wow. I am not generally a terribly gushy person, but I just want to GUSH, GUSH, GUSH about this novel. I absolutely could not put it down. It made me laugh and cry, and it made me remember those beautiful and terrible times when we've all fallen for a guy who can't be ours. Holy cow, what a beautiful and gut-wrenching story. I will truly miss Anna and Etienne.

Rouge, by Leigh Talbert Moore

I spent two entire days glued to my Kindle and the lush, rich world of Hale, Teeny, Beau, Roland and all the rest. Moore has an impeccable way of immersing her readers in her characters' lives, and her sense of place is spot-on. The romance was STEAMY, the action was heart-pounding, and the sequel cannot come fast enough. What a brave ending... I am speechless!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Laini Taylor

I FLEW through this book. Beautiful and suspenseful and so creative. And what a love story! The way Akiva looked at Karou made me weak in the knees, and the ending was absolutely marvelous. I can’t wait to get to know this world even better in the sequel!
