Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic Book Blast

Today on my blog I have the Trinkets, Treasures, And Other Bloody Magic book blast. I have a spotlight and giveaway.

Three months ago, I lost my foster sister, Sienna, to the darkness. As in blood magic and chaos and general mayhem. No one saw it until it was too late, but I should have. Now, I have a wounded heart and soul that I can’t even reveal to anyone around me, because I’m supposed to hate Sienna with the fiery passion of the justified. And I do. I just wish I didn’t feel so lost without her, so unsure of the path I thought I had carved for myself, and so outclassed by the powerful Adepts constantly by my side these days. I’m not even sure if they’re with me for my own protection or because my shiny new powers are rare and valuable. Assuming I ever figure out who or what I am, and how my magic actually works.
Even chocolate can’t save the day every time … just most of the time. At least I’ve got that going for me.

The Howling Heart Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have The Howling Heart tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, excerpt, review, and giveaway.

Paige Donovan is an ambitious college graduate who aspires to reach the top of the corporate ladder. She’s climbing fast when given the promotion of a lifetime at a prestigious fashion magazine in New York City. Her bright future comes to an unexpected halt after news of her father’s death. She inherits his old cabin in the Colorado Rockies, and just when she thinks her luck couldn’t get any worse, she has a car accident in the mountains and awakens in the small, remote community of Black River.
Soon, she’s engulfed in the mystical world of Varulv---wolves descended from 13th century Scandinavia and blessed by Norse gods with the ability to appear human. Paige is desperate to return home, but never expects to fall for her rescuer, Riley Gray, a charming young werewolf from England who offers her an alternate future with his pack.
Now, she must choose between the career she’s always wanted and the love she’s always dreamed.

Excerpt:
I stood in the hardware section looking at flashlights, when I suddenly felt someone staring at me. I tried to remain inconspicuous as I glanced to my left without turning my head. At the end of the aisle stood a slender, young man at least six feet tall, wearing a red and black plaid, flannel shirt with cut-off sleeves. Lean muscles flexed on his bicep as he grabbed something off the shelf. His bare arms revealed a tattoo on his right shoulder, but I wasn't close enough to read it.
He must've felt my gaze on him, because he looked over at me. The sun gently kissed his skin with a golden tan, and his full lips spread into a charming grin. He had a clean-shaven, square jaw and sharp cheekbones that would make any woman envious. His sandy blonde hair flowed like waves and curled softly on the ends, brushing his ears and collar. A few, untamed strands fell in his eyes, making his hair appear disheveled. There was no doubt in my mind he was handsome.
Immediately, a heat wave crashed beneath my skin...and I knew it wasn’t due to the summer weather. I blushed under his steady gaze and looked away in an attempt to ignore him. For some reason, I couldn't control myself. My gaze kept finding his. A smirk played on his lips—the color of a summer peach—and I wondered if they tasted as sweet.

Review:
Not only is this cover gorgeous but the story is so good I finished it one sitting.

Paige is given a promotion but on the day that is suppose to the greatest for her she finds out her dad passed away leaving her the cabin they use to vacation at when she was a kid. Her mom immediately wants her to sell it but Paige goes against it and decides to keep the cabin. Paige decides to go visit the cabin after having dreams about the white wolf pup she saw there when she was a kid.

The book is a little strange at first but quickly turns into a page turner. I enjoyed the story line and Riley is just so sexy. My heart broke for him that he has been howling for his lost love Paige but than she comes back to him after she hears his howling in her dreams. Which change the plans she has set for her life when she realizes they are mates. Will the pack leader allow Riley and Paige to be together? To find out you need to read The Howling Heart.

I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more from April. 4/5 Bloody Fangs

Because The Night Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have the Because The Night tour. On my stop there is a spotlight and excerpt.

Immortal Dilemma is the hottest band in the Las Vegas vampire rock scene. They draw insatiable fans from around the globe, thanks to a supernatural attraction called Bloodlust. Tristan craved such an opportunity to fill his empty mortal life, and now he has eternity to earn his place along the legends of rock n roll debauchery.
Callie always feared that Tristan’s excesses would get him into trouble, but she never thought they’d lead him to immortality. To reconnect with him, she must weave her way through a world not only she had no idea existed, but does not welcome her.
Blade turned down a spot in Immortal Dilemma after learning what he must sacrifice for that lifestyle. He finds Callie a refreshing change from the girls in the vampire rock scene. When Callie drags Blade back into the world of Immortal Dilemma, his resistance drives her into the waiting arms of Tristan, who shows her the true meaning of Bloodlust.
But the very things that Callie fights so hard to save are the very things that fight to destroy her.

Excerpt:
Blade played tour guide by telling my all the goofy and outrageous things he knew about each place he considered a landmark.  On every corner of the Strip, clusters of men and women handed out business cards.  Blade walked right up to one of the men giving them out and took some.  I took one from the lady next to him to be polite.  I dropped the card on the ground, already littered with them, as soon as I realized what it was.
Business cards for prostitutes.
“Callie, you’ve got to take the cards!  Come on!”  Blade teased.
“It’s gross.”
“It’s funny. Take some next time, you’ll see.”
By the time we arrived at the Bellagio, we each had a thick stack of cards.  We sat on the stone fence near the pool in front of the hotel.  Blade laid out his cards between us as if he intended to read my fortune with them.
“See, we have two Danielles here.  She’s only forty nine dollars for the night.  And here’s Ashley.  She’s ninety nine dollars.  Clearly, Danielle is the better deal. What do you have?  Did you get these girls?”  Blade motioned to my pile, which was nowhere near as organized as his. I picked it up and thumbed through it.
Danielle. Check. Ashley. Check. I looked over at the cards he had displayed. I caught on to his game.  “Do you have a Jennifer?”
Blade surveyed his pile.  “Hmm. What is she charging?”
“Thirty nine dollars.”
“That cheap whore!” He laughed.  “Nope, I don’t have Jennifer.  But I do have Anna and Alyssa, who are on special, two for one twenty nine.  Clearly a quality team.  I will trade you these fine ladies for your cheap nasty Jennifer.”  We swapped cards.
I shuffled them back in order, just as a spray of water shot from the middle of the fountain. Music filled the air, and the water began to move and dance in time with a Frank Sinatra song.  Its simplicity was magical.
The show ended and a fine mist of water fell over us, coating my skin. Through the mist, Blade looked soft focused, and his smile made my stomach clench.
I quickly focused my gaze back on our little game.  Now I was getting into it, thumbing through my cards looking for a good one to trade. I didn’t know if it was possible to win this game, but I still wanted to prove myself a worthy opponent.
I came across Black Dahlia, asking one forty nine a bite.  “Really, a vampire hooker? Are they everywhere?”
“In this city, if there’s money to be made off of it, yes.”
“I’m tired of this vampire thing already.” Was I the only one who didn’t believe it?
Blade laughed.  “Yeah, me too.  That didn’t take you long. So you didn’t come here to see Immortal Dilemma?”
My breath caught in my throat. I didn’t think this was the time to tell him about my connection to Tristan. “Well, we checked it out last night, actually.”
Blade shook his head in disgust.  “Don’t waste your time on that crap.”

Dragonfly Blog tour

Today on my blog I have the Dragonfly tour. On my stop there is a spotlight, excerpt, and giveaway.

On the nights when 22-year-old Jessica Parker dreams, she relives one hellish memory—the day she was viciously raped in the woods by a man with a dragonfly tattoo. She wakes up feeling like the helpless child she used to be, and sinks back into her day-to-day life with her jaded mother, her mother’s live-in boyfriend and drug-dealer, Arnie, and her young sister, Rachel. Life seems stable enough for a while, and she almost believes that she can achieve some semblance of normality. That is until she catches word from Detective Sam Hayden that the monster that shattered her life has been released from prison.

Jessica is asked to relive her nightmarish ordeal again in order to help Hayden unravel an underground network of child sex-slave trafficking known as Dragonfly. This network hides the face of a serial killer he’s been hunting for ten years, and Jessica may hold the key to finding his identity. Together they follow every lead and struggle to unveil the dragonflies hidden among them behind the guise of neighbors, friendly strangers—even officers of the law—before another victim vanishes in a web that leaves no trace behind.

Excerpt:
The interior of the car was quite lavish; the lush, soft leather seats were heated and the temperature of the cab was programmed on a large LED screen on the dashboard. Rachel could see it clearly from her seat behind the driver, a man she’d never met nor seen before that morning. But Arnie said that he was a friend and that she could trust him. Besides, he said that Jess wasn’t feeling well, and without her presence in the morning walk to the bus stop the ritual lost its magic. Plus, driving up in a luxurious vehicle that looked as though it could belong to the POTUS himself would make her the envy of the day. Kids in school would look through their classroom windows and see the man open the door for her. She would hold her head high like she was the queen of the freaking playground and sashay all the way down the path to the entrance. Sissy Renner would lose her mind with jealousy, and that alone was worth the extravagant entrance.
“Have you known Arnie long?” Rachel asked. She couldn’t even see the back of his head from where she sat, but she could see his eyes in the rearview mirror. It was difficult to tell if they were blue or gray, and the lack of any sort of mood behind his lashes made those beautiful eyes somewhat depressing.
He reached over and opened the glove compartment. He lifted a small bottle of water over his shoulder, waggling his hand until she took it. He snapped the compartment shut and then set his eyes on the road. “You looked thirsty,” he said. His accent gave his words rhythm, and he pronounced his vowels in the back of his throat, unlike anything she’d heard before. “Oh, I’ve known Arnold about seven years now. My name is Olav.”
Rachel looked down at the bottle. She was a little thirsty, and she would have been more than happy to take a drink, were it not for the fact that the cap had already been opened. The tiny little plastic bridges all the way around the cap had been snapped. She shook the water as modestly as she could. There were little white flecks and particles floating around. Were it tap water, she might have excused them, but she’d never seen anything floating freely in bottled filtered water before. It settled like dust at the bottom, dissolving a little more each time she shook it.
When she looked up, she saw him staring right into her eyes. It startled her, made her chest ache and her hands run cold. But she ran a hand through her hair to pretend as though everything was okay, and untwisted the cap of the water bottle. She held it up to her lips, tipped it up, but kept the water from entering her mouth. When she wiped her lips and smiled, he nodded contently and returned to watching the road. She spun the cap back onto the bottle and stared out the window.
This wasn’t the road to her school. This street would eventually curve in the opposite direction. She ground her teeth and tried not to jump to conclusions, but she couldn’t ignore the facts. She’d been handed tampered water, which had been laced with God only knew what, and this man—this stranger—was taking her somewhere far away from where he was supposed to.
She’d been taken. She wasn’t an idiot, she knew the signs. She’d been stupid enough to trust the word of a man she’d only known a year—a drug addict and dealer—just like the girls in all of the Stranger Danger Awareness videos she’d sat through at school. She couldn’t believe she’d been so naive. But, as much as her teachers had done to educate them in how to avoid being kidnapped, she had no idea what she should do next. No one ever told you what to do when you became one of the unlucky ones. What was the drug that he’d tried to slip her, and what would he be expecting it to do to her within the next few minutes? What would he do if he found out that she hadn’t taken even a sip? Who was he, and why had Arnie sent her away with him? Where had her mother been all morning? Was Jess really sick? Would she make it home? Was this man going to kill her?

Author Bios:

Sarah Daltry:
Sarah Daltry writes about the regular people who populate our lives. She’s written works in various genres – romance, erotica, fantasy, horror. Genre isn’t as important as telling a story about people and how their lives unfold. Sarah tends to focus on YA/NA characters but she’s been known to shake it up. Most of her stories are about relationships – romantic, familial, friendly – because love and empathy are the foundation of life. It doesn’t matter if the story is set in contemporary NY, historical Britain, or a fantasy world in the future – human beings are most interesting in the ways they interact with others. This is the principle behind all of Sarah’s stories.

Sarah has spent most of her life in school, from her BA and MA in English and writing to teaching both at the high school and college level. She also loves studying art history and really anything because learning is fun.
When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.
She has written several books, most notably Bitter Fruits, an urban fantasy in the Eden’s Fall series, and the Flowering series, including Forget Me Not, Lily of the Valley, and Star of Bethlehem.
Pete Clark:
Pete Clark likes writing, animals, potato chips, and cheese. Midnight Riders is his first published novel, although he can also proudly say he finally finished Helix Crashing, the fantasy novel he has been working on for over a decade. In addition, he has written Across the Barren Landscape, a collection of linked Western short stories. He also writes plays, both dramatic and comedic.
When he is not writing, Pete tends to ignore everyone around him and obsess over sports.
