Excerpt:
"Hey, sleeping beauty!" Jarron blurted to rouse Caleb out of a nap.
Caleb was comfortably leaned back in a chair and kept his eyes closed, greeting Jarron with a standing salute of his middle finger. "Why are you bothering me?" Caleb asked, still pretending disinterest.
"Sirius know you're sleeping on the job?" Jarron quipped.
"I wasn't sleeping. I was meditating," He smiled, recalling the dream that was so rudely interrupted. "Besides, there's nothing going on. It's been quiet." Caleb finally opened his eyes to look at Jarron. "What have you been up to?"
"Training," Jarron answered with a smile. "Where's Sirius?"
"Level 3 with Anya. Says he's got more research to do." Caleb stretched his arms over his head and let out a hearty yawn. "He should have been back by now. What do you have him working on?"
"He went scouting with Anya and found some things that have him spooked."
Caleb propped his feet on the table and quickly looked at the monitors to make sure things were still quiet.
"Before Baja, the demon attacks were getting more intense. A lot more Great Demons showing up. New demons we haven't encountered before."
Caleb shrugged. "We get attacked all the time. We suffer injuries. It's part of the calling."
"There's something different. It's in the air. I can feel it."
"So what's Sirius looking into?" Caleb didn't want to admit he felt the same way. That he was worried. That even though there was little to no activity, there was change happening in the city. He couldn't explain it, but the thoughts from the city that he often picked up on were different, veiled somehow, like his reception was being interrupted.
Jarron walked over to the conference table and opened a folder with stacks of surveillance pictures inside. He chose one from the stack, handing a 5 x 7 picture to Caleb. A red circle clearly marked a dark-haired man standing in the middle of a crowd, his gaze seeming to look off in the distance. It was Will.
Caleb dropped his feet from the table and sat up in his seat. He stared at the picture. He had given his word to Isabel that he would not reveal his knowledge about Will's presence. She had good reason to hold off, but if Jarron and Sirius were already tailing the guy, it would only be a matter of time before they figured out who he was.

Cocktails & Characters Post:
Cocktails & Characters (for the main characters)
Choose 5 or 6 of your characters tell us what their favorite cocktail is and why.

Jarron loves to wind down with a tall glass of gin and tonic with lots of ice. He normally runs hot and he finds the tonic water cooling and soothing--especially with the lime. Plus, it's simple and easy to make.
Ellie loves Pina Coladas. They remind her of her mom. They were here mom's favorite and one of the last drinks they shared during one of their travels… before her mom disappeared
Isabel is classy and sophisticated and being the leader of The Order, she reserves her drinking during special occasions. For those few special moments, Isabel indulges with a champagne cocktail, made with her favorite champagne from France--Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame.
Sirius is The Order's genius tech guy. He's a warrior too, but no one can handle the Control Room like he can. That means, lots of late nights gathering data and watching surveillance.  He loves coffee and when he needs a little more punch, it's as simple as adding Kahlua to his coffee and blasting the speakers with some deep house music and he can work all night.
Will loves a good sipping tequila. He used to live in Mexico and he would walk to a nearby market after work to buy some.  It didn't need anything else, no salt, no lime, just plain and he would savor it. That was what the storekeeper had told him. "Savor it. Let it coat your tongue." They would each enjoy a glass before the storekeeper would send him on his way.
Ash (Ashtaroth) enjoys blood orange and cranberry juice with vodka. Being a demon the alcohol really doesn't do much (if anything) for her, but she loves the deep ruby jewel tone of the drink. It reminds her of the rare and priceless bloodstones that come from her realm.

This is one of those books that took me by surprise but in a good way. I loved the illustrations and thought they really brought the story to life for me. The writing took a little to get use to but once I did I was completely into the story. I am really looking forward to reading the next book. 4/5 Bloody Fangs

Writing sucks. Period.

That’s why I am an artist; illustrator and graphic designer who writes in a hobby basis. Oh, wait… That’s not the “why”… I was born artist, and there is nothing I can do to change it. But with all the imagination I have running lose, there came some stories… And there came some books!

When I’m not doing artwork and illustration for authors and bands, I’m doing woodcarving, painting ornaments, painting artworks for myself, writing articles for IT’S ART MAG, collaborating with other artists and so on. Love Arts, History and Heavy Metal.

Oh, and summer is a bitch! Always. Anywhere in the world.

Sex God Blog Tour

Today on my blog I have the Sex God blog tour. On my stop there is a spotlight and excerpt.

Unfulfilled in his marriage and life, Alex Sterling makes an indecent proposal to his wife, Angela, which sets them off on an erotic adventure of self-discovery, revealing dark and repressed parts of themselves. On the verge of losing everything that is most important to him, Alex is a man in early life crisis, playing a high-stakes game and going to extreme measures to save what he values most. Is he going through a mental breakdown or is this some sort of spiritual transformation? He has no idea as his grasp on reality crumbles and all his worst fears are inevitably realized.

Excerpt:

“I think that it was a really great thing you did when you suggested the open relationship. So many men would just go off and have affairs, but you freed both of us to be ourselves and experience our own sexuality however we want and with whomever we want. I admire you for that,” Angela says, the sincerity in her voice and admiration in her eyes evident.
I take a deep breath and sigh. “I did, didn’t I?” We sit in silence for a moment as I formulate in my head what I am going to say next.
“So, who is he?” I say, deciding to tread carefully forward.
“Who’s who?” Angela replies.
“The guy that you have been messaging on your phone every day for the past month.”
“How do you know I have been messaging a guy?”
“Angela, I am not stupid. Some nights you have stayed up until 2 a.m. and I can hear your phone bleeping every couple of minutes. I have seen you almost run to see the message when it bleeps, dropping whatever you are doing at the time. The bleep that your phone is making is different from the messaging service that you normally use. It’s obvious, so please just be open with me.”
“Okay, Columbo, you got me. But just remember that it was you who suggested the open relationship. You did this. So you can’t be upset or angry with me for anything. Okay?”
“Angela, I am not upset or angry. I am excited for us. I didn’t expect things to go as they have. I didn’t think that I would have lost my desire to pursue the women I wanted to have sex with, I didn’t think that you would have been so quick off the mark with whatever you have been doing and I didn’t think that my attraction and desire for you would have gone through the roof as it has.”
Angela sighs and looks away. “You’re trying to make me feel bad, aren’t you?”
“No, of course not. I didn’t think that you would be interested in any other guys but I can see a new lease on life in you and I am happy about that. Your excitement and enthusiasm is infectious and to be honest I am really getting off on it.” Angela looks at me; she seems lost for words.
“So tell me about him. Who is this mystery guy you have been messaging every day? Did you sign up to one of those casual dating sites or something?” I say, feigning ignorance.
“Alex...I don ́t want to upset you.”
“Do I look upset? No, I am happy for you and I just want us to be open and honest about everything.

Excerpt:
“It’s not working,” David said. “Why isn’t it working?”
“You don’t have much time. If the corrosion reaches her chest, she’s going to die,” Nyx said.
“I’m going to die?” I mumbled.
I always thought I would be afraid of dying. I carried that fear with me since I was twelve, after looking inside that coffin at my dad’s stiff, breathless body. But now that it was my turn, I was ready. This was the destiny that was written for me.
“I can’t do it, Mother. I have nothing to forgive her for,” David said.
If I was going to die, I needed to tell David something I hadn’t had the courage to tell him before.
I glanced at my arm. The decomposition was at my elbow and the tingling had crept up near my shoulder. I didn’t have time to waste.
“David,” I said, and he looked at me. “I’m sorry I hurt you. I needed you to know...to hear it.”
I could feel the tingling a few inches past my shoulder. Nyx pulled my shirt at the neckline exposing my collarbone and part of my shoulder.
“I love you,” I said. “I always have.”
“I’m so sorry I did this to you,” David whispered stroking my forehead.
I could no longer feel my arm, my shoulder and part of my chest. And then I felt it—a searing pain in the middle of my chest. I writhed in anguish, screaming at the top of my lungs. My whole body jerked, and then there was darkness. Everything was silent, including my heart.

A soft light surrounded me, cradling me in a tranquility I had never known existed. I struggled for a last breath, but it was too late. The end was here.

Guest Post:
Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by on today’s tour stop for my book Creatura (Book 1). Today, I thought I’d share one of my secondary characters’ backstories. For this I’ve chosen Galilea, one of my favorite characters in The Creatura Series. She’s first seen in book two of the series, Fruit of Misfortune. But she quickly became a favorite of mine. Her zaniness and offbeat character—and unfiltered thoughts—makes her one of the more amusing and fun characters for me to write. But Galilea wasn’t always as wild as she is in Fruit of Misfortune. She was, like we all start off being, young and finding her true self in her early years. When Galilea is introduced in the story, she’s already lived several millennia and knows she’s destined to be a big part of something, though she has no idea what exactly that something is. So how did she end up crossing paths with the main character, Isis Martin, in the series? Here’s a little insight to Galilea’s past. I hope you enjoy it.

—Nely

***

Dearest Mother,

It’s been eight months since I left home without a proper goodbye. It was wrong of me to leave so suddenly, but this is the way of the Runes; although, sometimes, I’m not certain it was the smartest thing to do. I was sought out—offered the opportunity to be special. I jumped at the thought of being something other than just another deity, scratching my head and wondering when someone would take notice of my abilities. But I was afraid to tell anyone about my visions. You didn’t know I wasn’t like everyone else, Mother. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.

Enoch and Uno—my mentors—are nice enough. They’ve given me my own room in their ancient, tiny home. The walls are made of stone and wooden beams that smell of the cedar and oak trees they’re cut from. My belly is always full and my bed is always warm. I can’t really complain, except for the fact that they’re strict… and boring.

Enoch, the younger of the two wise men, has no sense of humor. “Stop with your tomfoolery, girl,” he tells me. “You must focus on your lessons.” Perhaps I would learn faster if they talked less about our precursors and showed me how to control the Stones, instead of letting the Stones control me.

My training revolves around the birth of a girl who I’ll have to protect. Initially, I assumed I’d be a vigilante, but it seems I’ve signed on to be a babysitter. To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement. Who wants to wipe baby butts, when you can change the course of history with the type of visions I have? Not me. However, Uno—the elder one—has assured me that being a nanny isn’t my purpose. I have no choice but to trust him.

Mother, I miss you… all of you. I wish I could come home. But under the oath I’ve taken, I can no longer be a part of society until my training is finalized. And until the girl’s safety is assured, I won’t be able to see you or father or my sisters. Uno says this may take hundreds of years… or thousands. Rest assured, I’ll come home, and when I do, I’ll tell you about all the nights I’ve cried myself to sleep, knowing your worry for me is eternal, like my guilt.

You’ll never receive this letter, Mother. But know that in my heart I’ll always be waiting for the day that I come home to you.

Review:
I really loved all 4 books and each book got better than the previous one which had me binge reading all of them in 2 days. I just could not put down my kindle and when it died I went to my back up one to read more! With heroines you can love and heroes you can love even more I mean really what is not to love about this series. My only complaint if you could really call it one is that I have to wait for book 5 which I really want so please Linda write faster so I can get back in this amazing world you have created and get lost all over again with the characters I love. 5/5 Bloody Fangs
